If you like spy games and space combat, this is the game for you. An alien invasion comes and everybody decides "Screw you guys, I want to be the one in charge."
I will say that the computer factions are extremely eager to go to war and throw nukes around. I was concentrating on the Americas at the time, but I saw Britain nuke itself until it ran out of them in the hopes of destroying an invading army. The aliens did something similar, nuked themselves the moment it became clear they would loose to the eight-stack army I threw at them. It did work, until I nuked them in return. We both ended up loosing all of our armies, but mine are much easier to replace.
A slow paced game for the most part, but I enjoy it.

Wonderful game with the obvious caviat that It's unfinished. The main issue I usually have is decompression zones not playing well with each other. Either a zone depressurizing for no real reason, or zones decompressing explosively when using an atmospheric regulator from a different room.
Good, fun game overall though.

2D Space trucker, with aliens and combat. Buy up a fleet or capture one from pirates. There's a somewhat active modding community, and the game is still being developed so expect new things.

Decently fun city builder. A couple of minor things aren't working yet, but it's still up there with games like Banished.

So call me an optimist, but I'm excited about the future of this game. The individual updates are not the most exciting, true, but overall what Frontier are doing with this game basically hasn't been done before. Star Citizen, No Man's Sky, maybe a couple of others try the same thing but at least ED:H has been released, is being updated, has a reasonable scope for the updates, and they deliver what they promise. From what I've seen anyway.
It gets a bit grindy, and the nickname "space truck simulator" is well deserved, but that combines something I don't mind with something I love. Throw in the occasional dog-fighting and I'm a happy spacer.

I love this game. It is a very fun fps multiplayer game, where they usually just irritate me. I especially love the bolt-action rifle deathmatch mode.
