Kind of a Laura Croft meets Far Cry 3 in Stanley's Parable. But the truely fun part is the naval battles. If they don't come out with a massive on-line multiplayer sea battle then they are really missing the extra value that this game brings.
The story line is making a good movie and that is enjoyable. Odd though that you have to walk through the story to open up areas and level up. That whole memory wall thing is just off-putting and ruins my emersion from the top notch graphics.
I like it, but could have waited for the sale next year in hind sight. Yet I want the Season Pass now. Torn.

I saved hundreds of dollars with Assetto Corsa.. Now I don't have to buy an xbox to play Forza 5 anymore. Even in early release this application of physics to a P.C. system is above all others. Even my beloved RFactor and RFactor 2.

You can really set up the car weight and balance using braking/throttle/steering and feel when its working and not. Every vehicle is different. Significantly.

If you hate arcade driving games - this is the one.

I've never laughed so hard at a deconstructionist's philisophical stocism as a first person non-shooter. Brain hurts. Still giggling inside.

Technically, it runs really well and the multiplayer can get downright creepy at night in a map where there is only one other player.

I know it is a work in progress. But the steam marketing really should say that it might be a solo playable game some day in the future. That tag that says "Single Player" means you'll just sit there. Or walk around. There won't be anything to do. Very disappointed in this aspect, although rewatching the video I should have heard this caveate perhaps.

Promising. Definitely not done.

Sinful fun. Don't ever let your kids know you played this. Lie about how you got it ("it just showed up in my inventory one day - I don't play it). Never tell your wife.

Full of potential and other issues.

The graphics are well done although distant fauna "blooms" visably and restores have objects popping up from the depths of the programmed underworld - which is funny to watch. Movement is a little stiff but one gets used to it. The quests are reasonable, the leveling up is competent. I just wish that they had not fired the QA team after the second of several islands became available.

That's the only thing that made sense to me. The bugs and inconsistencies in dialogue, the growing graphics stuttering, all this and more grew worse and worse as the game progressed. It got to the point where I was restarting every hour just to keep playing. And that is just one issue, I can think of more off the top of my head. Each of them by themself is a non-breaking issue. You can still play, you can still win (although you may go Huh?) but when you put them all together, well - it's just tiring.

I REALLY wanted this. The premise is first rate, the original was fun if not a little "off" at times, and then it went downhill in the first scene. I still played the stubborn pirate like a stubborn pirate and put up with it until completed. Filled with a sense of accomplishment I went back to mine a few steam achievements - only to discover more quirks preventing further play. Starting over is not a worth-while option.

In fact, I'm not sure starting at all was a good decision in hindsight.

I don't thimk I've ever laughed so much playing an RPG game. Love it. Sure it's campy and linear but where else are you going to get a chicen suite or get shrunk to play an RPG within the RPG?

I guess it depends on what you expected from this. No matter what, the technical implementation is very well executed. The story is pretty good - strong motivations and characters and such - and in the cells where you explore it is pretty complete for the tasks at hand.
What bugged me was that I am an RPG'r - not a clicker. There are several moments where you just have to push the right butttons, at the right time, in the right sequence. It completely ruins my immersion. Still, gameplay that depends on this type of mentality makes it fluid and trusted outside of those hateful moments. I know what to do with the game. I am confident of my learned skills. It is very playable.
The storyline is strong in the ad campaigns and the reason that finally got me to pre-purchase. Even got the "survival" edition (don't) because I got so excited. But it is pretty seriously a corridor shooter. The ads didn't really imply that. Still, it plays well for 40 hours, but you won't take an arrow to the knee in this one. Skill building and inventory is seriously on the lame side of the fence. The whole fast travel seemed like a solution to a technical problem really. Marketing. Who knew.
There are truely wonderful defining moments that will make this game great. The nearly seemless merging of cut-scenes and game play, the subtlety of her left foot slipping on the ice on a corner (and only then) that really lets you get in the game. But then there are those clicky-battles where you can only accomplish some defining moment one way. Sigh. Rip my heart out why don't ya.
Enjoyed it and hated it at the same time. One of the few games that I consider playing through again, one of the fewer games that I wonder why I would do that.

OK - I finally liked something. You could really get involved in this one - the game mechanics did not get in the way like they did in Witcher 1. Never mind that it is a corridor-shooter pretending to be a open-world. Still works. Although there are those occasions where you think you can go somewhere - or should be able to - but you simply cannot. That leaves some odd things around to prevent movement. Guess that's why you can't jump.
Side-quests are disconnected at best. Still - a good movie.

Just finished Witcher 2. This game so far is a bad follow-up. I feel like I got ripped off. Dialogue. Plot. Controls. Game play. Really? What were you thinking?

Great intro - I'll give that an 8.9, but so far those promos are the only interesting parts. The rest of it is a 7 at best.

Skyrim it is not.
