The absolute unbridled freedom this game gives you to do basically anything is pretty incredible. There are a few things that aren't quite there yet, but usually there's some weird roundabout material alchemy way to deal with them - for example, you can't make gear out of metal bars, so to craft metal gear you can craft statues out of metal ingots, then disassemble them with a hammer to create logs made of whatever material you used, which can be used to craft "wooden" gear that's actually made of metal. The weird roundabout nature is kind of the charm I guess.

Game development totally killed. Don't buy. Shouldn't even be on sale. Take Two killed Private Division and this game for quarterly profits.

I previously left a negative review on this game after around 18 hours played. The recent 0.9.8 update has addressed a lot of things and made the game better to play overall - while I don't remember seeing patchnotes about Ritual missions (and their horrible last-floor timer specifically), the updates to UI and in other areas have vastly improved the gameplay experience and made it considerably less frusturating.

I had a great time with this game, and plan to explore more of it in the future. The atmosphere is wonderful and its visuals are great. The story is also exceptional and the choices you make are impactful. There are plenty of hidden secrets to find and exploring the world is a big draw for me as well. I would recommend this to people who like atmospheric horror and people who like survival/exploration games that don't have food meters.

i think the game is pretty cool

In my opinion, the best city builder I've played, and a very unique game. It's able to avoid the tedium of management and possible performance issues of a late-game super-city by never getting to that state - the game doesn't stale because you're always restarting in a different situation each time, after completing the last settlement. Despite the resets, every complete settlement still feels like progress, with the permanent upgrades system and the trail of finished cities you leave across the map to get to a seal.

The game gives you a lot of different outs to different situations - while I've been under pressure or put in very tight spots, with some thinking there's usually a way out because of the unique design for production buildings and variety of different ways you can go about problems.

I really like this game.

Aside from a little bit of jank, this game is great both solo and with friends. The upcoming Build 42 update (which may be released, depending on when you read this review) seems to be very promising, bringing a lot to the game that it's missing currently - not that it isn't full of content already.
Lots of modding support, and very advanced settings for you to tailor your experience as you like.
Overall, a great game, and a great product of years of development.

great game but when i tried the multiplayer beta it wiped my progress. so i probably won't play it again but that doesn't mean it's a bad game.

this game was about bugs or something i think. it was really cool!
