An award winning game for a reason. If you can get over the fact that the graphics are very much dated and the controls need some time to get into, you should definitely give it a try.

A revolutionary classic. For a game this old, it aged very well. My only complaint is, that the level design is sometimes very unintuitive, but apart from that this game is very much worth checking out.
Also, on a different note, for someone looking for a game to speedrun, this is a good choice with its big community, good speedrun length and most importantly the godly movementsystem.
