For a game which is 6 years old, I'm pretty hooked. I'm also embarrassed that I never got into it sooner.

Between the awful game mechanics and incredibly slow loading times in character creation (even with an SSD, an i5 and 16GB RAM) this game should be avoided at all costs.

After supporting this game for over 2 years, buying all the DLC and extras, they decided thay MicroTransations would be great after promising they would never happen. They've lost my support and my respect. Do not buy.

I bought this game on release day for Xbox 360. It took me a week or so to get through all of the story and any side-quests which distracted me along the way. After completion I spent a few more days playing it here and there until I considered myself done with it, and moved on.

After a few months, DLC came out, then some more and some more after that until eventually there was a ton. I remember buying Gun Runner's Arsenal, looking around and being impressed, but not enough to get back into playing.

Fast forward to 2014. After the whole ordeal with the Fallout 4 prank online, I decided that I wanted to reply the game and I just so happened to have the GOTY Edition sat in my library from a Steam sale god know how long ago. So I spent a few hours getting myself some mods (actually I ended up with 50 or so) to make it look prettier (and my God does it looks pretty now) and then got settled in for a night of play.

I'm now 40 hours deep into another play through; I've hardly touched the main story (beyond getting to the strip), I've only completed one of the DLCs (Old World Blues - which is hilarious and impressively long; definitely worth the full price, at 75% off it's a steal) and only just hit level 30. I've hardly explored and have been lazily using Fast Travel now that I have an SSD and practically non-existant load times.

Pros:

Incredibly addictive
Funny in all the right places
Outstanding Voice acting, with Felicia Day, Zachery Levi and Matthew Perry being just some of the actors.
Unbelievable longevity
It's a Bethesda game, so pretty much the epitome of moddable PC gaming
It's cheap for the pack with all the DLC at regular price; with a Steam sale it would be stupid to ignore it
Mods. Mentioned before, but this cannot be over-emphasised. Better graphics, sounds and more content quick, easy and free.


Cons:
Sometimes a bit buggy with crashes, but it's understandable for a game of this magnitude
Very awkward and counter-intutive UI at times
Weapon mods are awkward due to UI
No method of faster travel beyond quick-travel and walking

Summary:
If you're a person that enjoys games with a good story, great voice acting and outstanding replayability, you're in for a real treat. Buy this game.

This is the perfect game.
