This is an amazing game. Have you ever wondered what would happen if MLB GM's and coaches made decisions after 4 shots of whiskey, at 3 AM on a saturday morning, to be carried out immediately and without question from others in the organization? Well, then have yourself some shots and start playing the game.

You have one of your starting pitchers out on the mound in inning 6, he's thrown 112 pitches, given up one run, but he's loaded the bases with one out. Do you pull him in favor of one of your relievers? Yes. Yes you do. But not after you've gotten schnockered enough that you would be escorted out of a real life baseball game had you been there. You leave that starting pitcher in to give up a grand slam. Then, as punishment for giving up the grand slam, you force this exhausted pitcher to finish the inning. This is OOTP Baseball.

You decide to do something to get a player or two, because you don't like how all of your guys are 2.5 stars. Do you package together some players who are on their way out of your team soon, determine some trade targets, and try to get a good upgrade for good value? Yes. Again, yes you do. But when you've had your 9th beer of the night and it's 2 AM, you do something slightly different. You go through your entire farm league, spending hours trading for some of the top players of your position. You go to sleep, then you wake up the next day excited to play. "I traded for Gavin Lux, Aaron Judge, and German Marquez!" you think. But at what cost. You play three games with your new star players, with one of them pitching a solid 2.2 innings with 5 earned runs, and the other two of which go for a combined 1 for 24. Then you have a pitcher get injured and check your farm system for a replacement, only to find that you have no AAA team. Drunken you figured that an entire AAA team was worth trading for some star players, and that sober you would deal with the details after the fact. This is OOTP general managing.
