Dragon Quest XI is proof that you don’t need to reinvent the wheel when the wheel is already perfect.
This is pure, classic JRPG storytelling done at an incredibly high level. A timeless hero’s journey, a warm and charming world, unforgettable party members, and a story that slowly grows darker and more emotional than you expect. It’s earnest, sincere, and confident in what it is.
The turn-based combat is rock solid and satisfying, with enough depth in party composition, skill trees, and buffs/debuffs to stay engaging for the entire adventure. It never feels rushed, never feels padded — just comfortingly good.
Visually, the game is gorgeous. Akira Toriyama’s art style pops in full 3D, and the option to switch to 2D mode is an incredible love letter to old-school fans. Few games respect their legacy this much.
The soundtrack, towns, NPCs, and little slice-of-life moments give the world a cozy, lived-in feel. This is one of those rare games where you don’t want the journey to end — and when it does, it somehow finds ways to keep surprising you.

A timeless JRPG reborn the right way
Star Ocean: The Second Story R is everything a classic remake should be.
This game perfectly blends beautiful 2D HD-style sprites with modern polish, keeping the soul of the original intact while making it feel incredible to play today. The characters are expressive, charming, and full of personality, and the environments strike a wonderful balance between nostalgia and modern clarity.
The action-RPG combat is fast, responsive, and addictive. It’s easy to pick up but surprisingly deep once you start experimenting with skills, party setups, and item creation. Battles never feel like filler — they’re genuinely fun.
What really shines is the choice-driven story structure. Multiple protagonists, private actions, branching relationships, and replay value for days. This is the kind of JRPG that respects your time while still offering massive depth if you want to dive in.
The soundtrack is fantastic, the pacing is excellent, and the overall vibe just screams “this is why people fell in love with JRPGs in the first place.”

Five minutes into the gameplay and the enemy dog creatures were running upside down on a wall, one was stuck. The other was glitching through another. I immediately Uninstalled the game. That's idie game development standards from 2010 at maybe a 4 dollar price tag. Definitely not a game from 2024 that is 24.99

The 3D remake of Trails in the Sky FC is an absolute treat. It keeps all the charm and goofiness of the original while giving everything a fresh, modern look. Estelle and Joshua are just as lovable as ever, the world feels alive, and the writing still hits that perfect balance between heartfelt and hilarious.

Whether you're a longtime Trails fan or totally new to the series, this remake is absolutely worth your time and the asking price. It’s a comfy, story-rich RPG that rewards you for diving in and getting attached. If you’ve been on the fence, just grab it—you won’t regret it.

The Last of Us Part II is easily one of the most cinematic, emotionally powerful video game experiences ever made. Let’s address the elephant in the room right away: yes, the game takes bold risks—killing off a beloved character from the first game shockingly early. But if you trust the narrative and allow it to unfold, it rewards you with one of the most gripping, layered stories in gaming.

Beyond its storytelling brilliance, the world design is nothing short of breathtaking. Every environment feels alive, detailed, and meticulously crafted, pulling you deeper into its hauntingly beautiful post-apocalyptic setting.

The gameplay and stealth mechanics are some of the best in the genre—tight, tense, and incredibly refined. Playing it on PC elevates everything even further with smoother performance and sharper visuals, making an already amazing experience feel brand-new.

And don’t let my hundred-plus hours on PC fool you. That’s just this version. If you combine my time with the original PS4 release, I’m easily closing in on a thousand hours. That alone should tell you how special this game really is.

Another Playstation port done right! Fantastic job getting this on PC! I play it on my Rog Ally X on all high settings and it runs buttery smooth. Awesome game and an awesome port!

A charming little JRPG. A port from the Nintendo 3DS. Has all the JRPG trapping in a cute little DS sized package. Fourty buckaroos is a bit pricy for what it is though. If you can get it for twenty or less on a key shop or on sale then it's well worth it.

The Isle is the poster child for why Steam needs to reevaluate its policies on early access games. It came out in 2015 and is still in early access in the now year of 2025. Initially promised was a dinosaur survival game with humans exploring a dinosaur infested island. What we have almost a decade later is a bare bones dinosaur mmo survival like game.

The Isle was a lie of a game from the get go and its future for final release seems like it may never come. Ultimately just another example of Early Access abuse.

One of the best Spider-Man games of all time. Great story and great gameplay! I will say that the included DLC is a bit of a snoozer story wise especially compared to the main game.

An epic follow up to the the God of War.
