Kind of a disappointing game for me. As a big fan of DOOM and DOOM II, I was hoping this would essentially be a level pack in an updated version of the engine. Instead, there was a big shift in focus from fast-paced action to obtuse, slow-paced puzzle solving.

The originals all had the occasional puzzle, especially if you're hunting for all the secrets, but nothing as frustrating as what DOOM 64 tosses you by the second level. Instead of running around at high speeds, ripping and tearing demons to clear the level and find the exit as fast as possible, you're stumbling around corners trying to avoid different traps so you can hit the right button to open a door *somewhere* on the other side of the map.

To its credit, the game looks great, a neat midpoint between the original DOOM games and QUAKE, and the gunplay feels as a good as ever. I'll probably come back to this someday and give it another shot with adjusted expectations, but this is not the hit of DOOM I was needing.

Felt incredibly short, and I'm not sure if I would get much out of playing it from the other perspective. Did not save co-op gaming for me.

Takes everything I love about DOOM and Hotline Miami drenched in acid and blended into a shot of adrenaline. Fast-paced gameplay, satisfying kills, and just enough roguelike modifiers to justify the price. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ melted my brain 10/10 would melt again.

One of my favorite games ever. So much to do in it. Love the weapons and armor. The humor is subtle, and full of easter eggs. I recommend it to any one who doesn't have it yet. Which is hardly any of my friends. So... Get it.

This game is so funny and hard. Awesome. 7 Isaacs out of 5.
