I loved watching my favorite streamers (Vinesauce) play the first 2 chapters over the years, I decided I should give them a go on my own with this release. Each of the 3 chapters has multiple endings, secret bosses, etc. This game is such a unique experience which is amazing because it def could of been done much, much earlier as its VERY low tech. But don't let that fool you. This game has an atmosphere like no other. I paid full price and am very happy with my purchase.

This is the closest you are going to gt to a "Fall Guys" experience on steam now.

I normally do not play these kinds of games, but I was in the mood to try something different. Thanks to this game, I am now more interested in this genre as a whole.

The game, on its own, is an amazing experience and one of my all time favorite stories in the medium.

This port, however, is at this time a disappointment.

Luckily, there are very simple to install mods to:

*Fix the actual frame rate so it's smooth and doesn't look like a slide show in the battles

*Change all the in-game cinematics so they are actually up-scaled (the ones in the game on release are not upgraded AT ALL from the PS1 release.

*Add in game prompts to playstation controller buttons if your using a dual shock or dual sense (seriously, why would they remove these?)

With these fool proof mods that literally anyone can easily install, the game is worth a play-through or 2. Obviously, only the PC version can be modded at this time, so I would only recommend buying the PC version.

Just head to Nexus Mods and do the job the devs should of done in minutes and then enjoy this amazing story.

I love when a game comes along that could of totally been done on older consoles and presents as something unique. If you like the atmosphere of Castlevania with game play similar to Robotron (but in movement only) and enjoy horde mode type games, then this is a game for you to check out. At $3 its an absolute steal and it is consistently updated with more and more features/game play elements being added.

How does Yoko Taro keep making these AMAZING games that are so depressing yet full of life?

To be fair, do NOT buy this game if you want a simple experience similar to "Ascension", "Dominion" or "Gwent." Also, if your looking for "Hands Of Fate", this is not that.
This game is.......... something else. Totally worth the time investment. This has quickly entered my top 3 games for 2021. If its on sale, it is a no brainer. Buy it. Its worth it at full price.

EDIT: Just completed my first full playthru. This game is quite a trip. Def top 3 for GOTY 2021.

It plays quite a bit like babys first F-Zero and is full of awesome cars spanning the history of Hot Wheels and some great IPs like TMNT. The track creator is amazing and works exactly how you think it would. There is ALOT of cool things that can be done! I am very happy with my full price purchase,

I purchased the game during the 2021 Summer sale for about $24. I was extremely skeptical about this game, after the falling out Kojima had with Konami and all sorts of rumors, it was the first time that I had experienced Kojimas ability to tell stories called into question.

Was he as behind the story of the "Metal Gear " franchise or was it more likely his whole team? This was a chance to prove him as a fluke. I LOVE MGS, MGS2, MGS3 (prob my personal fav of them all) and MGS4. MGS5 left a bad taste. This obviously was not HIS fault, but Konami as a whole. Nonetheless, his abilities as a story teller were being questioned.

First piece of advice, if you want to play the game. Play it. There was never any one point in this game that I was bored, uninterested or not entertained. The story makes sense within the confines of the world Kojima created, and if you give it a chance to play out, its a hauntingly relevant story to the realities we are currently living through in the pandemic. It is ironic, that a game about forming connections with people and the world, would come out just before this country has entered its greatest rift in turmoil since the Civil War.

Dont expect things to come together in 4 hours, or 10. I promise there is nothing else like this game. People LOVE to pick on the game, "herr durr YoUr A dElIvErY mAn and its BORING", but these same people call "Shadow Of The Colossus", (a game with no real combat other than the Colossi which is about exploration and finding yourself) "Art".

This game is Art. Kojima is a genius. This is an example of games, as a medium, being art. Is this the game that will define him? Probably not. Will this be a game talked about for years to come? Most definitely.
