Played a lot of the itch.io versions before the steam release, and I really like what's cooking here. It's an incredibly brutal game that oozes atmosphere and it really doesn't pull any punches.

Very impressive showcase of what a solo dev can accomplish! I'm happy to be able to support and recommend a project like this.

Generally feels fun to play, and the art and character design is absolutely gorgeous. I don't regret my purchase, but I acknowledge not everyone would be willing to pay $30 to play it in its current state.

I'm just going to bullet point list my current thoughts on the game. This is all from the perspective of a solo player. These will mostly be focused on areas that could use further refinement to strengthen the overall feel of the game.

- The adds on bosses are probably the most difficult part about them; they completely dominate the pacing of a fight, instead of the boss itself. And this is from someone that's never complained about adds in a fight before- not even for Remnant: From the Ashes or Dark Souls 2.

- The difficulty curve seems a bit strange. I'm not sure how the Abyss Meter (?) affects the world state other than triggering events, but I'd like there to be some kind of risk vs reward mechanic to it. Maybe gear drops increase in rarity the higher the bar is? As it is currently, I don't see a reason to not just extract whenever I want to heal or clear the threat meter. Maybe after each defeated Crown, the meter defaults to a higher initial value to add a ramping increase in difficulty within a cycle, which can also lead to better loot progression. (However, this would make dying and losing your current gear even more punishing...)

- Killing the mini-boss assassin spawned from the threat meter event is absolutely not worth the trouble; I usually just run away, zone it, or try to lead it into the ocean... Without some kind of reason to fight it I don't see myself wanting to risk it at all. Again, I think balancing risk vs reward is important here; have it drop something lucrative that makes the player want to engage with the content!

- World loot seems pretty poor. Most of the best gear I find is from the merchants in town. If world loot was better, it would be easier to replace lost gear and perhaps make it less punishing to lose gear on death?

- Sometimes meteors can drop on the extraction zone, which just feels unnecessarily cruel.

- I'm not a fan of the mine-like abilities on the Spear and Claws. They don't really have synergy with the weapon and don't feel very rewarding to use.

- I'd like a way to reset/restart a cycle without having to exhaust all REZ charges. Though because you can keep gear across cycles, I can see how this would just promote farming cycles... I'm not really sure how to address this.

- Extraction waves are always the exact same enemies- I feel like this should scale with the threat level of the world.

- You should be able to cancel any animation into an execution- they feel very stiff and awkward currently.

Fun co-op game with a great art style and soundtrack to boot! Whether you are a fan of the first game or new to this series, the game is a blast to play.

I've been following the development of Endless Dungeon through it's early access playtests and I can confidently say that it has come a long way from its initial builds. The transparency that the developers have shown and their willingness to listen to player feedback and make adjustments to their game is absolutely fantastic and something more studios should strive to match.

Had a decent amount of fun playing this with friends. We played all throughout the game's lifespan so we were there for the good, the bad, and the ugly. Some patch cycles were definitely painful to get through but Back4Blood has definitely come a long way since its admittedly rocky launch.

The core gameplay here is satisfying; gunplay feels solid and the card deck system allows for a good amount of playstyle customization. The player decks are especially important on the harder difficulties, where it's necessary to plan as a group since you need to cover things from ammo diversity, economy, and group buffs while also having basic roles like "horde clearer" and "anti-specialist" filled or else you're gonna have a bad time. Some of the finales were seemingly impossible but with a bit of thinking and deck tweaking, we were able to tackle them by approaching them differently. Each "role" has a variety of ways to be covered so I never felt like I was forced into a playstyle I didn't like to pick up where our group was lacking.

Our group is pretty stubborn so we were able to forgive and overlook a lot of the more frustrating aspects of B4B and write them off as a challenge to be overcome. I think your enjoyment of B4B really comes down to if you have a group of regular friends to play it with and if you have enough patience to forgive how ruthless the game can get on its harder difficulties.

Rain World is a masterclass in environmental storytelling. It's difficult, it's punishing, but even after all the pain of being lost in Outskirts for 5+ hours, there was something that kept pulling me back to this game.

I can't really explain it, but there's nothing else like this game out there. Give it a chance and you may find something special, too.

A wonderful adventure game full of charming characters, visuals, and a great soundtrack, too! Zniw Adventure is one of the simpler adventure games I've played, but it is so full of love and care that it really stands out as memorable to me.

I really enjoyed it, and I'm looking forward to playing through it with my sister, too.

The Dragon Clan DLC is a bundle of spectacularly designed sinister scalies that really add a new layer of depth to Armello!

The Dragon Clan- aside from looking visually impressive- also address one of the more neglected approaches to victory: the Rot. Through their clan affinity and additional amulets and rings, the Dragon Clan can actually pursue a rot strategy consistently without having to rely on RNG card draws and events. In fact- through their clan quests and synergies- they are at their strongest when pushing for a rot victory, and as a result encourage a very aggressive play style. I honestly love how their aesthetics and playstyles really encourage you to be the villainous terror of Armello!

My favorite characters of the Dragon Clan are Oxana and Nazar, who both benefit greatly from pursuing a rot strategy. Here are some quick tips I've found helpful while playing with them.

Oxana is built like a brawler; she has great Fight and Body, decent Wits, and is sorely lacking in Spirit. Her Hero ability encourages her to whip other spell caster players into submission by burning their cards for her benefit, so from the offset she's someone who wants to bully everyone on the board.

My preferred amulet with her is the newly added "Ruin" amulet, which allows her to consistently build rot by terrorizing villages. This is important for Oxana since her naturally low Spirit means that she lacks a sufficient explode pool when in combat. Once she is able to reach 5 rot and become corrupted, this weakness of hers is alleviated as her explode pool becomes equal to her rot value instead. Her high fight and body naturally complement this, and allow her to bully banes to build more rot and players to keep them in check.

To compliment her low Spirit, I like to take the Dragon Clan's "Cinnabar" Ring, which grants her a free 1 cost spell every time you lose prestige. This naturally complements the "Ruin" amulet, as terrorizing settlements causes you to lose prestige. This benefits Oxana's abysmally low Spirit by allowing her to safely gain low cost spells without having to take the risk of drawing high cost spells from the spell deck (plus free cards to burn, too!). Later in the game, this also makes king's guards a source of free spell cards and health drain.

Nazar has balanced stats, which allows him be versatile and play around his opponent's weaknesses. His hero ability grants him a free illusion card after the draw phase, which seems to be limited at first glance. However, there are two things I have found that it can do that up its value significantly:

Nazar's illusion can safely clear non-palace perils by triggering their negative effects on the dummy illusion. This is good if you want to clear perils off of the board without having to roll against them or suffer their negative consequences.

Nazar's illusion card can be burned in perils and battle, essentially giving you a free rot roll every turn. This is excellent if you are pushing for a rot victory, as it guarantees a free exploded dice once every turn! It also adds much needed "consistent" value to his hero ability, meaning that even if you don't use his illusion, you can at least get a free die out of it.

Unfortunately, Nazar's illusory double does not trigger amulet and ring effects that affect adjacent opponents, such as Intimidate. If he had this synergy in his kit, I would love him even more!

Unfortunately I haven't had much time to try out Volodar and Aginya. However, even having only experienced half of what The Dragon Clan has to offer, I can already say it adds a whole new strategy to the way I approach my games of Armello.
