Can't recommend. I get I have over 1k hours. Dev has a history mired by controversy. from the date of this review its been 29 day since a percentage of his playerbase cannot actively play the game he has put out. There was a community vote whether to wait for them to get "approved" or to just continue working on the next update. The last update included a 25 or 30$ pack/bundle and some fixes. One of those fixes was the infinite novabursts you could achieve by playing his spelunking minigame. Was that mentioned in the last patch notes on his discord? I wonder what other fixes occurred in the patch that barred him from an approval from the appstore. I cannot recommend this product to anyone, good game idea and various good mechanics, just a terrible developer who's shown his true colors time and time again with a community he's fostered to defend him no matter the cost.

Editing this because i was wrong, there was an updated patch note to reflect the novaburst changes. Leaving what I said up there because even though I was wrong it doesn't take away other changes he's done in the past (like shadow nerfing gems/candy drops from world bosses). I can admit when I am wrong and can adjust accordingly, I don't know if the developer can do the same.

2nd edit: update hits on the 20th of February which allegedly fixes things for iOS users. Over a month players actively cannot play. In the discord there was a thread posted about this iOS issue where the dev could have at least given a response to the situation. He chose not to. Mod proceeded to make a comment about someone's post where he mentions "half" in response to the amount of community members/players involved in this issue. This entire time I've played or participated in the community I've noticed they downplay the community number of players on the platform (iOS) and never have directly shown or displayed the numbers that make up the playerbase. If the mods response to the situation where iOS users are saying they do not have access to a product they might have paid into is simply to insult it makes me curious how they view the community they are fostering as a whole.

I've had this game for a while and right now I can't say with good faith to buy this. Mostly having the hours go up because friends who outright refuse to game on pc are gaming on console and wanted me in to play, and I wanted to see the censor changes for myself. The game itself is mediocre at best. 20 year old games arguably have better pathfinding for AI (enemy or team/civ) let alone small games like Future Breach 64. The only thing this game massively has on the competition currently is the graphics, which after this recent console update can give horrid abominations for certain lighting/models. Crossplay also is done through an Epic account which to me is rather slimy when they probably could have done it through steam but possibly got a deal with them to do it. All this recent controversy has shown is what Void is truly after at the end of the day, and following this game from the start I simply don't have faith that Void will do anything more here than give more empty promises and under deliver future content.

So far was able to complete the content in the hours I have when I posted, hours will probably go up.
Personally I'd wait if you want a more complete experience, especially with the price tag, but what is offered currently is enough for me to want to tinker with it and continue to flesh out my skills as the one doing the Great Work. However many hours I end up with is how long I personally enjoyed it and I couldn't recommend this game/experience enough. Highly suggest playing his other game if you enjoy this one as it has the same agency for player choice, albeit in a more streamlined way.
