Stardew Valley is a brilliant farming simulator on the surface however there is a hidden/ very deep story as well as mining and exploration elements. These factors come together to deliver an iconic experience which divides all the sub skills into their own adventure each requiring their own dedication to master and level up. The farming alone is a major with different seasons reflecting on the types of crops you can buy and sell over the years. Yes years Stardew valley takes place for as long as you want really however the story content might run out after about year 5. The game is amazing and honestly I have sunk hours into it with myself, it takes a while for the pace to get set however for a beginner that is unnoticeable as you spend the first months learning to play.


Furthermore, there are mods and one of those is SVE a full expansion for Stardew Valley that adds the ability to learn magic, and additional quests, a huge range of different lines of dialogue, more story lines etc. Once you've played with mods you cant go back really.

Also multiplayer which is another league on its own but requires planning as all players should be active at once.
