I sabotaged the reactor then killed the person trying the fix it... I think you can guess what happened next.

This game is absolutely amazing! Especially when you out-smart your enemy in a tense last man standing duel, it's such an invigorating feeling!

I honestly cannot recommend this game for a few reasons (Buckle your seatbeats cause it's a long one)... So I'll do a quick list of pros and cons...

Pros:
- The graphics are pretty nice
- You can make some really good friends (Who do sometimes also play other games with you outside of ARK)
- If you take out the fact that some people are ♥♥♥♥♥ (Referring to Raiders) then this isn't that bad of a survival game.

Cons:
- Alpha Tribes
- Grindy AF
- Taming takes ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ forever
- Breeding also ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ takes forever
- Pretty much everything takes ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ forever
- Raiders/griefers
- You can lose 600+ hours of grinding in a few hours (even while offline)

This game has so much potential to be great, but the developers choose to be ignorant to certain key issues mainly in regards to the griefing (which from what I've read is for a scummy practice that earns them more money) that honestly ruins the experience for so many people.

---Griefing (Raiders/Alpha Tribes/♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥)---
So to start, I played this game for 622 hours (which was all consolidated to one server) and I lost it all overnight when the Alpha tribe (I'll describe that at the bottom), it honestly killed the game for me because I sunk multiple months into the game to have it destroyed in under a day. Furthermore, the raiding and griefing aspect of the game sounds really fun in theory but sucks ass in practice. When you log off your body doesn't disappear, you actually just fall asleep which I mean as long as you have a base you'll be fine right? WRONG, I'd say the part of somebody killing you and taking your stuff actually isn't the worst part... the worst part is that they can take everything in your inventory, handcuff you, throw a bunch of crap inventory so you can't move due to encumberance (and no you can't drop anything when you're handcuffed) and then throw you into a jail cell, where you have no chance of escaping and probably will take more than a few days to starve and die to escape through respawn (Assuming they don't feed you in your sleep, which yes they can do that to stop you from starving).

---Grinding (Part 1: Leveling)---
This game is far too grindy, and I mean it has it's ups and downs and can be appealing to some people, but with what I mentioned above, it really just doesn't make any sense. The Levels, essentially lock all the crafting behind the levels, which honestly isn't bad I actually quite enjoy that, however, unless you either 1) Really know what your doing from hundreds of hours of experience, or 2) joined a large tribe that allow you to use their tames for lvling, then leveling up is gonna take forever, and you'll be sinking in weeks, possibly even months before getting the higher tier tames to be able to at the very least hold your ground against similarly sized tribes.

---Grinding (Part 2: Taming)---
Taming honestly in my opinion needs to be taken down a notch time wise (Resources are fine), some of the most basic tames such as the triceratops can take upwards of 1 hour to tame early game when you don't have the kibble for it, like when you tame with berries or meat. Now you may think oh well just make the kibble for it, how hard could it be? For some not too difficult, for others it can be extremely time consuming, why because you get the eggs of another dinosaur to make that kibble (1 egg = 1 kibble), where sometimes you can require upwards of 50 or more pieces of kibble just for one tame, and believe me most dinos don't ♥♥♥♥ eggs out very often, not to mention you have to be in the area of your base for them to do it,I think it takes about 15-20 minutes per egg, and if you go too far even for just a second, that timer gets reset. Anyways, now lets say you ground to get a higher tier Dino, for certain dinos, it can still take you upwards of 1-3+ hours of taming for things like T-Rexes and Brontosaurs, even more for a quetz (Essentially a huge pteranadon) a lot of which have to be babysat. Now, something that I did was I sat nearby, and I watched YouTube videos while I tamed checking up on progress from time to time, but lets say you do that however, you lose track of time in the last 10% of the taming process and the dino wakes up.... welp say goodbye to all your progress, because everything you stored inside the dino while taming is gone, even if you knock it asleep again all your items cease to exist, also any of your taming progress is also gone, so not only do you have to grind your narcotics (what you use to keep the dino asleep) and your kibble, but you also have to start from scratch, no matter how quickly you KO it after waking up.

---Grinding (Part 3: Breeding)---
Very similarly to Taming, I also think breeding needs to be taken down time wise (resources are fine). So first of all, You have to get 2 dinos together for smexy time, which is when they'll poop out a fertilized egg, afterwhich, you need to incubate the egg, now if your really late game this isn't too big of an issue when you have air conditioning units which will keep the egg at the right temperature, however, if you do this mid game you have to use fires and continously monitor the egg's temp and move it around so it won't die before hatching this alone can take upwards of 3 hours... So you hatched it... congratz! but your not done yet, ohhhhhoho no, you then have to feed the baby pretty much every 5 seconds early on and a few minutes a bit later as it grows, and you have to do this until it reaches adolesence which is when it can start automatically using a feeder for the rest of the way, but that takes anywhere between 1.5 to 3 times the duration of the incubation period, so break out your gamer grub and make dinner early because you're going to be doing nothing for your whole afternoon. Now that's done, your almost out of the woods, the last foot of the process while somewhat automated isn't done yet, depending on which dino, you can be waiting a few hours to up to a week real time for it to finish growing up, and during that time you have to make sure the feeder is stocked, and that your food won't spoil. Mess up here and once again you have to start from scratch.

---Summary---
As I mentioned earlier this game has soooo much potential, heck it's still one of my top 3 longest played games, but between the massive grind and the griefing that the devs seem to be encouraging at this point, the game just isn't feasable if you want to have a life outside of gaming or even to keep your sanity. This is one of those games that isn't for players who like to take it slow and to have an experience of playing the game, rather than a sprint to the finish line. I would practically have to say if you really want to enjoy the game either play on a private server with just your friends but you'd have to pay to have that, play on ones with strict rules for griefing, or play on PvE (But I feel like that ruins the point of the game) or play on singleplayer (which frankly with all I mentioned above, is going to be incredibly boring, not to mention is going to eat up every shread of free time you have, and you defeat the purpose of the game, which is to play with others). As for some of the grindy elements there are modifiers for that on private servers but they are super limited and don't just reduce to time that things take, they also reduce how much kibble it takes (can't do one without the other, cause the time is tied into the quantity of food required for taming), which honestly then makes elements of the game that I think are balanced just far too easy, and it just isn't a challenge anymore which ruins the fun of the game for me. Overall, I would give this game a 3/10, great concept, fun to play with others, but is just ♥♥♥♥ and underdevelopped in every other way.

---Definitions---
Alpha Tribes: Are the primary tribe of a server that has progressed so far that they are pretty much unstoppable and can do literally anything they want without the thought of consequences even crossing their minds.
