You really have to appreciate the effort that Wildcard puts in to ruin the game for PvP.
The introduction of TEK was one of the worst decisions the devs could have done, allowing people to build in caves also removes one of the biggest aspects of the games, effectively blocking new players to access a huge portion of the game if they play multiplayers since most of the more dangerous caves are blocked by other tribes.

Wildcard should introduce a setting / official server network that emulates the game how it was in early access 2015/16 without TEK, bolas, net guns, overtuned creatures like the shadowmane and desmodus etc.

I bought this game in 2015 and I have to admit that a lot of what made ARK a great game has long since been completely removed by Wildcard to make the game more beginner friendly.
Genesis 2 in that aspect was the final nail in the coffin considering that you can simply find gear which would be considered "endgame" on other maps in Genesis 2's orbital drops.

A lot of the new DLC dinos also make older dinos completely irrelevant.

The Strider for example makes farming with an ankylo completely unnecessary.

The Rhyniognatha is faster than most flyers, can carry VAULTS full with loot and can steal enemy Rexes and Paracers, making it effectively the best flying dino in the instant of it releasing (ignoring that it was able to mesh any base in the day1 patch of it being added)

The Direwolf, Sabertooth and generally any old DPS dino is a joke compared to new dinos like the Shadowmane or the Velonasaur.

At the time of editing this review ARK is planning to simply re-release the game with "improved graphics" and charge you 60€ for that upgrade, which shows what Wildcard values most about ARK, which is the fact it is the biggest Cash Cow that Snailgames owns, considering they managed to kill off every other game they invested in.

I would still recommend the game, however only if you play on a server which manages to balance the game in a way to make older dinos more viable and damp the newer ones down a bit.
