For 7 days, it's mechanically incredible. It's fun and tense, even if the opponents and setting are simple. It's in desperate need of a solid sequel that expands mechanics and enemies.

BEFORE YOU BUY: This is a season pass. Currently, as of February, there is only the seamless planetary landing. Check their site for upcoming updates.
The landing so far is pretty great, though it still has the little UI break when you disengage supercruise. It's still smoother than coming out of normal SC, though.

The missions are to be fixed in the next update - many are impossibly difficult or underwhelming.

SRV controls are fun, mining and barnacles add a neat degree of depth. Not to mention the racing courses that many canyons have.

To anyone who owns Elite right now, I'd recommend it. You'd hype over the finished season, so best get it now to have instantaneous access to all the features and updates, and not be overwhelmed by all 6 major updates in December!

Worst FPS and Loading times to date on any PC game. NVidia GTX 950. Never had any issues with any other games. 16 FPS on average, 9 second periods of total freeze when moving more than 200 metres.
