It doesn't look like i have spent lots of time on this game but I played when I didn't have Steam. This game is basically hard, just hard. This game needs determination and needs time, you wont become the top players in a month. This game took me around 2 years to become a 10th dan (a pretty high belt in the game). This game is amazing when you realize you can beat the higher skilled players, it just feels great. I cannot recommend this game any more. Just make sure you don't get addicted like me.
