Just a really solid game on all fronts. Fun amount of challenge without being brutal, a fun control scheme that works well, useful upgrades that feel good to earn and develop a playstyle with, and on the artistic side of things- don't even get me started. Lovely art style, fantastic soundtrack that -will- get stuck in your head, and overall just really well developed worldbuilding that makes you feel the melancholy of the setting and cry for the characters involved in it.

10/10 Highly recommend.

This game really doesn't and didn't get enough love. It's brimming full of personality and honestly despite being relatively short it was a really fun time getting through it and slowly putting together the puzzle that is figuring out how to beat the game. Not everything works perfectly- and honestly one of the main advertised gimicks of the PvP gameplay with trying to interrupt other's playthroughs of the game wasn't my favorite thing in the world, but you can play the game offline and just enjoy the content single player.

I definitely recommend checking this game out if you enjoy atmospheric story-rich settings that clearly have a lot of passion put into them. The gameplay is nothing to write home about, but certainly enjoyable enough, but the setting is what makes this game totally worth it.

I can't say I can recommend the game in its current state. It's essentially a L4D clone as others have said, which isn't necessarily a bad thing as the L4D gameplay formula is not a bad one, and the setting and art design is certainly neat, so I can see it being a good game with more development time.

However, in its current state I would say that it isn't really even worth the 10$ it's on sale for. It plays like an open beta.

Things I would say need work:

1. The map design is often confusing. So much so that at one point a pop-up came up suggesting 'Try going this way!' which is never a good sign. Good map design should lead the players in the right way without them realizing it.

2. The characters just don't have much.. character yet. One of the things that made the L4D games such classics was the voice-acting and writing that the characters got. They all had personality that makes everyone remember them. The characters in this game have very little emotion to their voice lines and often come across as computer-like.

3. The sound design in general is.. lacking. The guns don't feel very powerful, and don't have enough variation.

There are other things too, but these are the things that stand out most off the top of my head after a brief play session.


Things I like:

1. The art design is neat. The 1970s aesthetic in space is a fun idea and if played-up in the right way could definitely make for a really unique and enjoyable setting.

2. The perk system could be neat if fleshed out a bit more. At the moment it feels a bit randomized and like there isn't enough progression to it yet. I think it could potentially make for a fun progression of difficulty and progression of abilities mechanic if played out correctly.

3. Having different rarities of weapon add-ons is, while a very common thing in today's games, a welcome addition beyond the L4D formula this game is very clearly based on.

Overall, I can say that I hope this game does get developed further as I would welcome a fun L4D clone with this sort of aesthetic setting, but at the moment it just doesn't have any real value in terms of playability.

An excellent little train sim with more features on the way. I still have a lot of career content left to get through, but what I've played so far I've thoroughly enjoyed. It's actually genuinely challenging getting long trains up the hills in this game, which makes it exciting and fun. At the same time it can be incredibly relaxing to just roll through the countryside on the way to your destination. I can think of few things to complain about. Solid buy!

**Edit Post-Simulator Release**

Wow, they finally released the long-awaited Simulator update, and honestly..? I think it was worth the wait. The game feels more complete than ever now, with pretty much everything I wrote in my earlier review still applying, but now with much added detail and features that were lacking before. Can say I recommend the game more than ever now, really.

I remember this game fondly from the dreamcast days, but overall this is a really bad port. The music is not the same, and the menus feel clunky. Overall, it is not the experience I remember- I'd recommend the original of this game, but not the port.
