Pros:
Great turn based gameplay
progression through multiple runs
finding synergies between weapons pleases the neurons

Cons:
Runs can take upwards of 4 hours because the sheer number of decisions and enemies
You spend a lot of time learning a map, understanding how to optimally place buildings, only to have to relearn it once you make it to the final night and learn that the boss's spawn location will screw you over.

Story rich game that leans heavily on pathos.
It never completely explains what's going on, and that gives it such an amazing atmosphere.
Amazing game.

Don't buy, at least not yet. There's only a few hours of content currently available (if this is 6 chapters out of 22, then this entire thing is going to be insanely short). There are currently only 3 waifus available.

During dialogue, there is no lip syncing for the fully voice acted lines. Don't get me wrong, the voice acting is amazing. But why not animate the characters so that what they're saying matches their faces? Instead we get 3 to 4 repeated animation sets for each character.

The turn based strategy aspect of the game is severely lacking. All fights take place in a very small arena where sometimes you can't move onto some of the spaces. Why even bother being turn based strategy? There's no cover, weapon triangles, nothing. Some enemies have unique mechanics, but that just means you kill them first or at a distance (exploding bots). This is just a watered down, bare bones version of your typical turn based strategy games happening on an 8x8 grid, if not smaller. Xcom may have spoiled me, but this isn't even half of what that game did.

My main issue with the bullet hell portions are that you do them all in one area while more enemy waves spawn until you're finally done. You don't go anywhere and the only thing that seems to change between all the arenas is the backdrop. Other than that, it's pretty fun. I enjoyed the fight with the assassin and the pirate ship (not the tutorial one, that one was boring).

Lets get to the real issue: the porn.
Other than the initial recruitment sex scene, the sex scenes are not integrated in the story.
For a studio renowned for making porn shorts, you'd think they would have something better than 3 second looping scenes.

If you were expecting a buildup of a bond being created and strengthened then leading into sex, this ain't it chief.
If you like hookup culture and pump and dump, this is probably for you.

This is all subject to change, EA and all that. If this makes it to completion I'd be more than happy to change my review then. For now, not enough content in the right places for the price.

Update June 27, 2021: The lack of additional content being added is pretty worrisome, it's been three months.

Update February 15, 2022: The Elaisha update adds quite a bit of content, and it's pretty good! Hopefully we start getting content every quarter like they say we will...

Remember that guy that never talked, was interested in BFGs, and if any answer was given, it was through a violent action?
Apparently he died sometime between the last game and this one.

The game tries to go a new direction and results in some weird ♥♥♥♥. Even with the in game lore items I'm not sure why I'm killing hell priests to save Earth. Last I checked, Doom Guy kills demons cause there's demons need killing.

0/10, would remove from my wishlist so I wouldn't have been gifted it.

Still the clunky POS I got six or seven years ago.
