Boson X: This is a game in the "runner" genre, meaning that you have to "run" as long as possible to get as high of a score as you can. This game is based on the scientific term "Bosons" which in short are subatomic particles. The game follows you as a scientist/ lab assistant as you "discover" new Boson's by completing levels, showcased in three groups of stages.

The Good things;

This game can be extremely satisfying (much like Super Hexagon) when you succeed in challenging stage after numerous attempts, and gives you a good rush of adrenaline when "running" in a level for a long period of time before completing it.

The visual style of the levels is something very cool to look at, almost like an optical illusion as the level kind of *unfolds* in front of your eyes as you jump and run from space to space. In addition, I also appreciate the fact that most levels are visually distinct from one another, and they tend to not look too similar if at all. '

The music can match the stages very well, and some of the tracks in the game are very good pieces of music.

The Bad things;

The game operates on this strange system for "beating" stages. The player has to essentially land on these blue spaces which charges your progress up to 100% to beat the level, anything past that is simply for a higher score. The problem with this is often times you will pass these blue areas (especially in later levels) because you are more focused on trying to not die than make a suicidal attempt at moving to these blue spaces. It can also be quite frustrating when you are at a high number i.e 90% for over a minute of playing through the stage attempting to land on a blue space when it keeps placing them away from your path. This is kind of where a game like Super Hexagon shines as all you have to do is "last" 60 seconds to beat any given stage, while here it is dependent more on luck if you're in the right route to hit lots of blue spaces.

In certain levels there are pieces of the level that are given some odd texturing choices which makes it very difficult to tell where exactly you can land safely, and where exactly you will die if you land. This is very common in the final level of the game, and I experienced first hand extreme frustration at this shortcoming when I lost a 90% run to a platform that looked safe but I somehow landed somewhere where it deemed to be death.

Overall, I find Boson X to be a fairly good runner game, and if you're the type of person who loved Super Hexagon or something as old as Temple Run, give this game a shot, it will probably provide you with some good entertainment. 6.5/10.

As far as I'm concerned, for the price its worth it.

The main thing I have to highlight on is the atmosphere the game gives you. I must admit that the controls are a little clunky and weird to get used too. However once you do and coat yourself in the music and simplicity of the game, I found it to be pretty calming. Also its art design is neat.
