Played this game for far longer than I've owned it on steam, but this was as good a chance as any to support Cavemanon. I've experienced everything the game had to offer and, despite not being much of a visual novel guy, I do believe it's been one of the best time investments I've done regarding a game. The story is relatively simple, and the characters are nice and charming. There are a couple of fun references here and there, some even capable of breaking immersion if you know where the characters are from and such... but those only really happen early on.
It's easy to get absorbed into the story and keep playing, wondering "what's going to happen next?" Additionally, the game is decently long considering it's just a visual novel. I was pleasantly surprised by just how much entertainment I've gotten out of it when playing through it for the first time. I was bummed that I was done with the game by the time I got my first ending, but the game itself lets you know that there is more than one ending! The endings vary drastically and they were intriguing enough that it powered me to keep on playing even after finishing the game.
One of the main things I liked about Wani is that the choices you make can & will change how many of the events will play out. I did not have big expectations for such things happening, as I was very used to games telling you 'your choices matter!!!!!' and the 'mattering' in question being nigh insignificant. However, with this being a game that heavily relies on its story being captivating enough to keep the player going, I guess I should've seen it putting greater emphasis on having the player's choices mattering.
All in all, this game was an extremely pleasant experience. I laughed, I cried, and I was kept in suspense at many points throughout the story... even though I do not typically cry from videogames. I would heavily recommend you play through the game and try to put yourself in the shoes of Inco — the game is definitely worth experiencing.

Thanks for reading, and get to hugging that gator!

Honest to god, one of the best games I've ever played. I've got to mention this before going into the review, though: I bought this with Iceborne, so I don't know much about just base World.

I played Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate a lot when I was younger, and it captivated kid-me. Now, as an adult, I've once again gotten hooked to Monster Hunter thanks to seeing some of my friends play this game and wanting to help them out - and boy, am I happy I chose to do that.

First, the good things!
The atmosphere is beautiful, and being able to interact with the environment beyond just appreciating it as a pretty eye-catcher feels great. The large array of monsters you get to hang are also fun and diverse — just like the amount of weapons you can use. Each monster feels mostly unique to take down, and the whole process of tracking them down is something I also enjoyed at the start of the game. There's a lot of customization available to the player, both mechanics and aesthetics wise, which I enjoyed toying around with a lot.
Additionally, it's very fun to hunt with your friends! And even if you don't have a lot of friends that play this game, you can still play with randoms - you can shoot out a 'flare' that will allow people to join you on your hunt, or you may choose to help out someone who shot out a flare instead. This, personally, greatly enhances playability and I am very glad that it is in the game.
Finally, the monsters grow gradually more powerful as you progress the story. You discover more and more monsters and they get tougher and tougher, but ALL of them can be beaten in due time. The final boss of Iceborne might be the most thrilling battle in the game - and it might even by my all-time favourite video game fight.

Now, for the things that I enjoyed less.
There is a LOT of grinding to be done if you're looking to set up a specific 'build'. After each hunt, you get a bunch of 'decorations', and after appraising them you get to see what skills they provide. This sounds alright, but the thing is... there's a lot of skills in the game. Like, a LOT. This RNG mechanic can get even more frustrating when you take into consideration the level 4 decorations, which are a mix of two abilities put into one decoration. It becomes really, REALLY RNG dependent, and it can be extremely annoying. Some may enjoy this, but I'm not one of them.

All in all, I think Monster Hunter World, when paired with the Iceborne DLC, is a majestic game that I would love for other people to experience. It's a unique experience in comparison to most games I've played, and it most definitely has been a fantastical one. Happy hunting, partner!

A very enjoyable expansion to RoR 2. I've only been able to play for about an hour, but I do believe I've seen enough to be able to recommend it.

At first I bought the DLC solely because of the two new survivors but the rest of things that have been added to the game have been very enjoyable. It took me a bit to understand the new void seeds and a bunch of the new stuff, like the "new pods", but once I figured it out things have been so much more fun. The new maps and music fit right in and do feel fresh and new, and the new items seem balanced. I can see a lot of items that have similar properties to those I used to play with on a modded version, albeit I can tell that these are both not useless and not overpowered. Generally speaking, very fun and interesting from what I've seen.

Finally, I'll mention the new void things that have been added: There are little pods laying around in the maps that consume 50% hp to open, but once you do you'll get a corrupt item. That item will corrupt every item you get thereafter (I don't know if it also corrupts items you also got) that matches its 'type'. This means that if you get the Seers' Lenses, every Lens-Maker's Glasses that you get after that will all be corrupted and become another seers' lenses. In addition, there's also void seeds laying around that produce a field in which you will take continuous damage until you crack the seed - this is done by killing the void enemies that are planted in place in this field. You will be able to see in the top right how many of these enemies are remaining in the void seed. Also, void-touched enemies and special void enemies will spawn in this field! One of the special enemies I saw was a Jailer - that dude was huge. One of his moves consisted of throwing a void ball at you that, when near, turned your screen black and white and if it touches you, you DIE IMMEDIATELY. I kind of expected that, but it still took me by surprise - so take this as my warning to you, this DLC does add some challenge so don't take every new enemy lightly. In addition to damaging you it also 'locks' any container inside the field, so you must crack it in order to open any chests, terminals, or 'pods', which is certainly a good incentive. They are absolutely not necessary to move on to the next stage though.

Now let me talk about the new gamemode that this dlc adds: Simulacrum. I've only played it twice with a friend so of course take my opinion with an EXTRA pinch of salt. The gamemode resembles the void fields a whole lot - you are in a sphere in which you dont take damage, but if you leave it you'll be out in 'space' and will take small amounts of damage as long as you're outside the 'safe zone'. Similarly, you still get an item after every wave and you get about 10 seconds to pick your item and prepare for the next wave. However, unlike the void fields, there are a lot of items and 'fabricators' around the map in order for you to make good use of your money. Additionally, every 5 waves you will fight a boss with the same limitations that I've stated previously which does add some challenge to it. My friend and I got what I assume was a horde of many lemurian (the big lizard) and died immediately because there were seven of them and just two of us, all locked in a cage. Despite all of this, I think it is a fun gamemode and would probably be even more enjoyable with a full squad.

Finally, I must mention the new survivors. I have not unlocked the second void survivor yet, but I can say without a shred of doubt that Railgunner is a VERY fun character. Her speed is way better than engineer's so that's an automatic 7 for me, and her abilities are very fun. The repulsion mine is an explosive that launches both you and your enemies away so you can use it to move more speedily, reach higher places, or try to shake those ghosts that bleed you off your back. The sniper scope of course is only as good as your aim is, but generally speaking it is EXTREMELY satisfying to deal a huge chunk of damage in exchange for aiming at the enemy's weakspot. Even moreso if you charge up your shot with your ultimate ability. However, keep in mind that if you do use your R and shoot, you will not be able to fire your gun for about 5 seconds. You can still use your mine though, so make sure to get out of there as soon as you can and stay safe until you can start firing away again. All in all, a very fun character to play as that can deal a ton of damage.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to see nearly half of all the new content but I can tell you that so far this is a great DLC and I absolutely do not regret my purchase. There was a lot of hype and Hopoo did not disappoint. <3

TL;DR: Maps and music fun. Railgunner very fun, I don't know about void fiend yet. Items are plentiful and fun. New gamemode is fun. Everything this DLC adds is fun! Beware though, as it does add a certain chunk of danger.

Ruin has come to our family.

I have been playing this game for 60 hours and the first 15-20 hours I did not do much, as far as I remember. I stopped playing because I thought it was a boring and stressful game... but then I picked it up again just last week and have been playing it every day. I have had a lot of free time recently thanks to the holidays which has definitely made my addiction to this game worse, but damn do I not regret it. Such a fantastic game. Every line that the narrator says is very memorable and at times it adds some impact. It REALLY helps me get immersed. The vocabulary of the narrator, his tone, the ambience set by the art and the soundtrack...

Which brings me to my next point - I ABSOLUTELY love the artstyle. It is delightfully grim, yet not over-the-top grotesque. It strikes a perfect balance between cartoony and grim, in my opinion. I grieve over the loss of my favourite heroes, the amount of coin I've spent on their skills and their equipment, their trinkets, etc... but every time I lose them, I build them back up eventually. The stress mechanic adds plenty of pressure every time I delve into a higher level dungeon and is almost always something I have to keep a close eye on - that is, unless I want to make everything go down the drain very quickly. I've yet to turn on Crimson Court, but I am sure it is a very fun and difficult expansion.

Love the game. Can't wait to play DD2 once it's on steam.

Definitely one of the best games I've played, if not the best. It's pretty well thought out, has tons of exploring to do (the map is friggin' HUGE) and plenty of characters to get attached to. You can avoid all of the side quests if you want to, and just go straight to the final boss, but fair warning: You'll be missing out on a lot of content. This game looked promising, and definitely lived up to its promises. I loved every single hour of this game, but you might get lost during the end-game, as there is more to do even after you kill the final boss. There's always something more to do in Hollow Knight, and that's why I adore the game so much!
9/10, can't wait for silksong.

A friend gifted me this game because he had spare money during summer sale and I must say, I owe him a lot.

I've spent many, many hours playing this game until I mastered a single character simply to get to the last chamber and finally beat the final boss, and I gotta say that if the game was not Enter the Gungeon, I probably would not have spent half the time. This game manages to be incredibly fun, entertaining and challenging at the same time. Another thing I really enjoy about this game is how many references it has to other games -- they're all amazing.

I'd definitely recommend playing this game if you're a fan of rogue-like games.

I could talk forever about this game but I'm going to keep it short, just to avoid a wall of text.
IMO, this is one of the best VN's I've played. It has hit me in the feels like a punch to the gut and kicked me while I was in the ground multiple times.
they also killed my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ waifu thE BASTARDS
But I give it my 11/10 - I'm going to reinstall it just to clear out the data and start over again.
Do play it, it's an unique experience.

Extremely fun to play with friends, and also has plenty of gamemodes within it.
It can lead up to hundreds, if not thousands of hours of entertainment, and the best of all is that you can quit at any time, really! I mean, you can save your creations (And even "worlds!") with ease, and upload them to the workshop if you think that they're cool and want to share it with other people.
It'll always have something different for you to try out.
