Def has the issue of "not pointing you in the right direction" enough, but overall, I'm halfway through and I can safely say, it's good! Great even! The environments and sound design is amazing and very impressive to see from trio of devs minds!

Quality game from a company who actually takes time to make everything perfect.

I played both playtests as well as the server server slam, and even to final release, it only got better.

Community is key, somehow I’ve struck the balance of finding who to trust and who to mark as an enemy all based on the in game communication. Of course, voice chat users always get a bit of bump in trust.

Anyone can turn their back on you, but it seems in the early days of the game (and playtests) everyone is doing their best to survive the Arc.

I can’t wait for new content as the game continues to evolve.

I see many of the reviews are comparing this game to the original 2016 game. To start, this game includes MUCH more than just one game. It includes 2016, 2016 DLC, and 2, and another narrative, AND an overarching narrative that carries between many of them in some way.

Many others make good points on how the first narrative isn't "exactly the same story" from the 2016 game. Yes, that is true. Personally, I think the 2016 had better story and was definitely slower pace and was easier to follow.
However, with the 2023 version, seeing a "remastered version" with better graphics of the 2016 story was very much enjoyable. Also, don't forget, you also get all the other narratives included in the 2023 version, so it's a pretty good bang for the buck too!

I liked all of the stories, the first one being the best of course. However the writers story was also very good.

Another small thing through out the game, wtf were those pre-rendered cut scenes? Looked like 720p and the voices sounded SUPER compressed. Though, in other parts of the game sometimes the voice sounded compressed, so I have no idea what that was about.

Lastly, YES this is a "walking sim", but that's just their way to tell the stories. They are leaving it up to the player to find the path to go and enjoy the ambiance and visual design of all of the different areas of the levels.
Yes, I will say I got stuck in a few parts (maybe 3-4 times throughout ALL of the narratives), but one walk-through video later, I understood what I was to do, and enjoyed the rest of the narrative.

In the end, I would recommend this to anyone who loves a spooky story, loves fantastic sound design, and being mesmerized with many of the graphics fed to you throughout the game.

I played this outside for about an hour... but then i went back inside cuz it was starting to rain. I see why we should play Inside.

I have wasted so much time playing this.

This is the only thing I can use to not look like a psychopath, laughing at car crashes.

Overall, this is a fun game. I don’t normally play battle royals because they are too repetitive.

The biggest issue is that lobbies are infested with bots. I don’t know the last time I saw a person in a lobby.

The game content is great, snowboarding, BMX Biking, hang gliding, climbing, scuba?!?
The ability to do all of these things things, and do jumps and tricks, gives this game a unique feel.

I will slowly stop playing this game because a friend of mine received a 10 year ban after playing for around 3 days. There is absolutely no reason to receive a ban. Also, this game requires admin to run. So, have trust in your data.

Even after all of that, I still recommend it because if you want to play a battle royal that is actually entertaining.

If you want a great game to hand out with people, like VR Chat, Rec Room is a great game to start with. While the audience for the game does seem to be young teens, anyone can play this game and will find a community they like.
The limitation of the editor, weather difficultly of use, or limited weapons, makes it hard to create rooms.
On the contrary, the ability to play with and without VR is very unique. You can play with friends with mouse and keyboard, or even your phone if you just want to pop online for a bit. Overall, this is a fun game for anyone who wants a community based game and members who are active and unique.

This is an amazing game to Speed Run. I have played for around 8 hours so far and I think it is a great game to vs friends in.
