Interesting puzzles based on deceptively clever concepts. Fun exploration at your own pace. Lovely visual design. Pretentious philosophical quotes and lectures - good or bad depending on your taste.

Conceptual theme; no story or characters. Probably don't play this game if you absolutely must have a narrative.

I strongly recommend to people who find joy in puzzles and discovery.

As others have mentioned, certain puzzles can't be solved by deaf or colour-blind players. Since these types of puzzles are uncommon and usually easy to identify, I still recommend The Witness even if you are deaf and/or colour-blind, as long as you don't mind skipping or looking up solutions for small parts of the game.
