Beautiful pixelart, fantastic audio, fast paced combat, but the atmosphere is top notch.
The movement tech has some skill requirements but you feel like a ninja when you get it.
The weapons feel different from each other, the logbook filling with enemy details is sublime.

If you are even remotely interested in a Metroid like game this one is for you.
Day 1 purchase for me.

A clever game in two parts.

Bouncing balls to break the bricks and beat the boss. Different paddles (characters) have different abilities.
Different balls do different things and they can be fused together to do yet more different things.

Building a city to gather resources to upgrade. You can spend all together too much time doing this and the search for perfection is never ending.

But the thing that this game has, is that after playing for a while, you will unlock something that makes you stop for a moment and go, "Oh, that's neat" that makes the game way more open. Then it happens again. And again. The game explodes exponentially and has you coming back for just one more run.

It's like Runescape, but with a graphical style that's easier on the eyes.
Number go up.

10 years after the original Risk of Rain released, it returns.
better graphics, better performance, better online multiplayer, more loot, more challenges.

This is the last good Risk of Rain game

Don't let the looks fool you, this is one of the best tower defence games available.

This game has been out for over 10 years.
Re-Logic will put out a final update one day.
They have a few times already.

It's a neat 2D exploration and combat game, make better equipment to kill bigger foes and return balance to the world.
Expect to put in many hours.

If you are a fan of Castvania - Symphony of the Night, this is the non Konami Sequel you have been waiting for.

An incredibly deep, complex ARPG. Regular large updates, 1000s of hours played through Steam and 1000s more before it came here. Free to play, purchaceable cosmetics and QoL (stash space) Would absolutely recommend for anyone who likes a game they can put some time into. And if you get to maps, Chris Wilson owns your soul.
