Nioh is a game which has a special place in my heart. I've loved its aesthetic since I first laid eyes on it. It invokes in me a sense of impossible nostalgia, a longing for a time I've never known. So many of my hours spent playing this game were spent as I was thinking about this feeling. The game is so distinctly of it's time (the mid 2010's) that it endears itself to me on that alone. The atmosphere is something akin to the caliber of Dark Souls, or Subnautica (not in the type of feeling, but how the game makes you feel). The best example of this to me is the first half of the 'The Spirit Stone Slumbers' stage. I still think about that level when remembering this game.

The combat is distinct and almost fighting game-esque. Being able to block attacks makes it quite different than most souls-likes (Especially since 95% of attacks can be blocked without sustaining any damage, with the only exceptions being elemental attacks), and this allows for a much more defensive playstyle to be viable (which is how I approached the game for a majority of my playtime). Despite it having a fair bit of depth, I didn't engage with most of this depth and just used Dual Swords for 90% of my playtime, so even if you don't want to interact with all of the gameplay mechanics the game has to offer, you can still enjoy yourself and succeed (though some gameplay mechanics are more dangerous to ignore than others, so beware). The 'Living Weapon' mechanic can be extremely powerful with the right setup and situation (look up some videos on Youtube if you want to see it for yourself).

The enemy design is generally well-managed, with only certain enemy attacks being problematic or difficult to deal with. The rough spots can be quite rough, however, such at the Giant Skeleton Warrior having a whirlwind spinning attack which hits 4 times, and the first 3 hits are almost always enough to break your guard, making the fourth hit essentially unblockable (this was changed in Nioh 2, thankfully). Another rough spot is the Rokurokubi, which is one of the most frustrating non-boss enemies to fight in the entire game, as it has attacks with massive range and little opportunity to counterattack (in Nioh 2, this enemy is also nerfed significantly). The Raven Tengu is another often-cited source of frustration, with it having great range and mobility, in addition to a variety of attacks. These are the exception, not the rule, however, since most enemies like the One-Eyed Oni, Spider, and Sentry are perfectly fine to fight against provided you take sometime to learn their patterns and attacks, and can feel trivial to beat if you don't overextend.

The story is the most flawed aspect of the game. It's very much 'this thing happens, then this thing happens, etc.', and while it didn't bother me per se, I can't say that the story is a strong point of this game. It's fine, it's there, but there could have been a lot more done to make it actually compelling. The lore is fine though.

Overall, Nioh is an extremely good game overall, with great combat and unparalleled atmosphere, but it has some rough spots that can make it a bit frustrating at times (especially in the beginning), but if you don't mind some challenge, the game can be great fun. Overall, I give Nioh a 9/10.

It's honestly a really good game. I haven't played any of the Forza series before this game, so I can't say how it compares to them, but as a stand-alone game, it is very good. While I wouldn't buy it for full price, if you can get it for 50% or 70% off, it is absolutely worth it. The only real negative I have is that some of the story missions are very difficult, so if you want to 100% the game, you'll probably need to consult a guide or walkthrough. Overall, Forza Horizon 4 is a 9/10.

(+) It's a really solid game, that really makes you feel powerful once you become used to the enemies and how to best use the scrolls the game gives you. It somehow blends rogue-lite mechanics into an FPS very well, to the point where it just feels natural.
(=) Enemies in later stages can evaporate your health very quickly, so you'll need to be very attentive, or sometimes find yourself dead just as you were starting to assemble a cool build.
(-)Overall, the only real issue I would have is that sometimes item descriptions aren't the most clearly worded, but this has improved significantly as the game has been patched, and isn't really a problem anymore.

It's a game that is probably worth full price, but is most definitely worth it if on sale. Unless you don't like FPS games, I really recommend you at least try it.

Actually an insanely good-looking stage. Probably even better than Vermilion Gates. Definitely looks better than most of the vanilla stages, that's for sure. 9.5/10

This stage looks great, and the music is wonderful as well. Probably the best Tekken 7 stage ever. Hopefully Tekken 8 will also look this good. 9/10

Tekken 7 is a good, but flawed, game.
The story isn't necessarily terrible, but it is laughably short. At the end, you'll feel like you missed as to why exactly things ended up that way, no thanks to the story's terrible pacing.
As for the netcode, while it has improved substantially, it still isn't on par with something like MK or TFH, though it isn't the worst out there.
If you are susceptible to feeling stuck or like you aren't good enough, then you will hate this game. Unless you're the top 2% of players, it is easy to reach plateaus where you get stuck for months on the same rank, not being able to progress any further. Then the game will become your nightmare, and you will hate this game to where it will consume your mind and soul if you just don't leave.
It's a game that is good to pick up on sale, but unless you've played previous installments, don't buy it for full price. Overall, 7.5/10.

This is an ARPG for the ages. It is up there up Path of Exile with the level of polish and coordination that it has. It plays well, and is quite well optimized. Its combat is tight, and even on normal difficulty, it can prove a challenge if you are careless(Note: I not very well very versed in the ARPG sphere, so take those words with a grain of salt). It doesn't have perhaps the most compelling story, but that is rarely the focus of an ARPG. If I had to levy a complaint, it would be that there seems to be a lack of side quests. There are a few, but I would have wanted some more, or maybe some additional lore details. The music is entirely ambient, which I think wasn't the worst choice, as it helps you really get a feel for the atmosphere, but I would have preferred some exciting tracks for the bosses. Overall, though, I give Torchlight II an 8/10.

A game with some of the best gunplay I've ever seen, and with a movement system that easily rivals Team Fortress 2, it is certainly quite a game. And while I don't know for how much longer it'll be around for, it certainly won't be an experience I'll forget.

It's a game you play for the grind. It has a decent, if a bit retcon-happy story, and the game is quite well optimized. However, the base gameplay loop is quite shallow, so if you are searching for deep and intricate gunplay, then this isn't the game for you.
