I bought a bunch of supporter packs and was playing with my ultrawide widescreen for months, until I got a message from the Devs saying I was "cheating" which is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ absurd. Haven't cheated on any online games ever. Honestly just feels like hypocrisy from them considering their main guy is playing on an ultrawide in promotional materials. Haven't played for months.

the uh,,,, update looks interesting so I'm redownloading it, but that bit of BS had me playing other stuff for like a year. I feel robbed.


as long as you don't have a 21:9 or 32:9 monitor the game is fantastic. if you do, then they will claim you're cheating. Such ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. wish I could conditionally recommend cause this is one of the BEST arpg's i've ever played. Just look at the playtime.

I would love to be able to reorganize my forces or command them to positions on a cursor of some kind. Also it would be great to be able to cast some of the spells or aim the fire of the sorcerers for example.

It runs great on the steam deck, kind of churgs a bit once you're doing really well on the deck, OH and I'd love to be able to play this unstretched on my 32:9 aspect ratio monitor... right now I move reallllly fast going left and right but up and down are a snails pace crawl :(


Anyways this game is great, honestly finally a game that really allows for that necromancer fantasy to run rampant. I just wish I could see my army once you're really kicking ass.

Game isn't fully featured. Doesn't have support for the dual sense adaptive triggers so IMO the game isn't complete on PC. not recommended. Honestly isn't really that great of a PC title anyways, much flatter than the other games, loses a lot of that verticality that Doom is known for, at least for me.

wtf? why would you give MORE to the cheapos using gamepass but not the people actually buying the game? smh annoying and idiotic.

a half ass port of a half asses story trying to be some kind of relevant "modern" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ most of the charm is gone, just feels like a skeleton whose flesh has been picked clean by the ship of Theseus that is Gearbox Software. The gameplay is fun. Get it in a bundle or some kind of massive sale if you do, but I waited for years to get this game and found it to be what I expected. Really pretty, but for some reason a lot of the cool features from borderlands 1 even are missing like the physx liquid simulation seems to again be a shell of itself much like everything else. Idk i'm going to give this game a lot more time and just give it a go out of respect for the first game (I never did finish the second one...)

MAINLY don't buy this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ because they only half ass ported this garbage. the game DOES NOT run as well as it should and it has features listed IN THE MENUS that DO NOT function. like adaptive triggers don't work< wtf is that gearbox. I work for a living I don't have time to sit there and try and figure out some way to get them to work, especially not with all the different weapon types in the game. just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lazy.

I wish I could have given you *less* money for this. I did like the little call back to the OG catch a ride RIP.

idk. it's fun. I just don't recommend it because the port is lazy and they just took the PS5 version and let it run on the PC, game it the option to swap the "controller type" but then took 0 care to ensure the controllers were used to their fullest potential. the xbox controllers have NOTHING going on with their vibrating triggers and the PS5 controllers do ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ even though "adaptive triggers" are turned on in the menu. FOR SHAME

I guess now I get like 40 different reviews with all the DLC and crap to go through all the reasons I didn't immediatly jump on a game from one of my favorite franchises and why I am not too excited for # 4.

Idk I'm lazy, like gearbox so maybe you'll see them maybe you won't.

I had to wait ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ years, like 5 or six years. just kind of give up on the franchise after borderlands 2 just kind of as one of my favorite game franchises just deteriorated into ♥♥♥♥. the game is still fun, but everything that made borderlands borderlands just had been getting slightly more and more corrupted as time passed on. the narritive sucks. gameplay is great. idk then they started this super greedy nickel and diming ♥♥♥♥.

literally didnt' buy the game until a full kit version of the game was at a reasonable and discounted price. Got the ultimate for like 15 bucks because ♥♥♥♥ you gearbox. You're not that great especially when you take what was great about the first game, sand off the edges and inject bs into the narratives. Anyways, I can wait.

the demo is sex. idk what i'm waiting for honestly to buy the whole game.

There you read the review, if you're a customer don't buy it for now. Never should have left early access.

Now for devs:

Man this game has a lot of potential. There is a beautiful Idea here that is not fully fleshed out. I'm surprised someone said, "yup that looks done, pull it out of early access"

Plus it has some odd performance issues I wouldn't really want to pass on to anyone else. Ultrawide doesn't work, unless some kind of cutscene is playing then the game will render out the full screen just fine. You can't change controls, you can't tinker with any graphical settings. Just missing a lot of stuff a modern game would normally have. The voice acting in the intro section of the game was nice, wish the rest of the game had a little of that, didn't need to have everything voiced but perhaps just a prompt hello or something when talking to those people in the castle I think would have gone a long way.

The max number of minions being 80 is just dumb. to me the big appeal of the game was being able to control MASSIVE HORDES at least to me. Figured the rot mechanic would limit that number naturally, but the hard cap feels odd.
The game still is a bit of fun if you see it in a bundle or something. In its' current state I can't recommend it. By reading the other reviews

I hope the devs return to finish fleshing out this idea or perhaps make another game in the future that is perhaps a little more narrative driven, as there is plenty of potential here for a fantastic game following a necromancer and the game play is fun, just needs about 10% more polish.

I was a little worried there that they were going to go the way of Helldivers for a hot second there, but they've corrected course in a good way.
This game is a breath of fresh air. Buy it. Enjoy it, play 300 hours of it like I did.

it's quality that hasn't been seen by me at least in a long time. After getting snubbed and literally lied to and tricked into buying games it's refreshing to see legitimately responsive devs who actually listen to what the majority of their gamers say and respond accordingly. They pushed a little too hard in one direction and weren't married to the position.

This inspires SHIIIIIIITONS of confidence, at least in me, for this game's future. Looks like this developer REALLY IS focused on fun. Good Lord, in 2024 saying that makes these guys feel like revolutionaries with every other developer trying to preach at you..
