I don't fully understand why the osrs community doesn't like this game. It's pretty good

one of the only communities that hates the game they have the most hours in

it's GTA with much more emphasis on hacking. 10/10

Tons of fun. I love dumb action games, and I love how this game was made specifically to be played with friends. hats off to you gfuel-snorting, mtn dew code red-chugging, rgb keyboard-having tryhards who are able to complete the full game without friends or ai bots. this game was truly a product of its time, and it's a crying shame that other companies can't even come close to the amount of joy this game brings people, and the amount of replay value. 11/10

absolutely recommend. very linear, solid puzzles, I did experience a bug where the dynamic lighting defaulted to just... very very bright. you'll know what it is when you see it, it starts on the chapter: black mesa east. to fix it, go into properties and under launch settings type: "mat_dxlevel 95 mat_hdr_level 2" that should fix it. otherwise, cool story. though I'm not too sure how one man is able to break into one of the citadels of a military that took down all of earth's militarys in seven hours, but whatever. love ravenholm, really cool chapter. I got this game on sale, but you should still buy at full price if you have the means.

very fun. definitely deserves the hype, even as a 23-year old game.
edit: ok, this game is not perfect. though the level design is great, and the combat hasn't aged a day, it IS a goldsource game. at one point near the beginning there was a vent I had to break and crawl through; note that you have to stand on vents AND crouch to break them. I tried breaking it, didn't work, guess there's another way. I was on a wild goose chase for that alternate enterance for fifteen f*** minutes trying to find it. Don't get me wrong, I love this game, but nonlinear games as a whole need to be playtested pretty damn well to make sure everything is layed out clearly. that's not to say this game has awful level design, everything is well-done with the resources given to valve and for a game that was made in an age where pc games consisted of "point, click on bad guy, press w key to progress." if you don't mind clipping into and getting stuck on textures, having to manually save so you don't loose 15 minutes of progress, and an ugly 3rd act, there is GOLD here. (hence gold source)

tl:dr old game feels old but not that old considering how old it is. 10/10
