Well what can I say about this, it’s Portal 2 but drastically different and better, with more options for community creation and a better feel, UI, more things to explore, try and do. Go on give it a go and play it.

I wouldn’t recommend this mod. A lot of the maps in this mod feel cluttered and like a mess and a lot of it doesn’t make sense.

This is a brilliant puzzle game, it gives you the portal feeling for sure and is similar to portal, except you use gravity vortexes with the test elements in unique ways instead. It’s very fun and somewhat entertaining, go check it out!

Great mod, you can tell that a lot of time and effort when into this. The old fashioned feeling, such as the black and white vibe is great, because it really makes you more immersed and feel like it's Half-Life, but in the 1920, 30s and 40s etc. This is truly impressive source engine work right here. It's also very unique as well, So yeah very good mod. Would recommend

An epic remake to Half-Life 1, would definitely recommend, like everything is great, especially the longer xen chapters at the end. I had a fun time playing this.

This is a masterpiece, and it’s one of the best games ever made. It’s even better now thanks to 20th anniversary update. The episodes and lost coast are all within one single game now, there’s also bug fixes, developer commentary for main Half-Life 2 as well as workshop support now.

This game truly is great 👍.

Amazing Game, but playing on pc is very risky— Play on Console Instead

I have played this game since it originally launched in 2016 back on Xbox. I eventually moved to PC and reached Rank 4930, nearly hitting the max cap.

However, despite preferring the PC's performance, I have officially abandoned my high-rank PC account to start over on Xbox sacrificing going from a lower rank on Xbox (1260 currently) because progress doesn’t transfer, it’s in order to be more safe though.

The state of the PC version in 2025 is simply too dangerous for anyone who cares about their progression.

The Risks in 2025:

The Level 46 Exploit

Hackers can remotely force your characters to Level 46. Because the game’s legitimate limit is 45, the anti-cheat flags your account as "impossible" and soft-bans you, kicking you out of every multiplayer lobby.

Forced Max Rank (5455)

Malicious users can remotely "Master" all your characters instantly. This is a curse, not a gift—you get the rank but zero character upgrades (damage, reload, etc.). Since you are already maxed, you can never trigger the XP milestones to unlock them, permanently weakening your account.

Achievement Spoiling

These hacks often force-unlock every Steam achievement at once, stripping away years of satisfaction in a single second.

Account Bricking

Current exploits can cause infinite "Black Screens" or loading loops by overloading your profile with corrupt data packets.

The End of the Live Service Era (2016–2019)

The most important thing to realise is that the active engagement and update window (2016–2019) has long since passed. During that time, the game was a 'live service' with a dedicated team at PopCap/EA who actively patched exploits and monitored server security. That was the 'Main Time' for the game.
Today, the game is in a 'Legacy State.' The developers have officially moved on to other projects, and there is no one left to provide ongoing security or content updates. While EA still keeps the servers powered on, they are essentially unmonitored. This is why the PC version is so dangerous; hackers are using modern 2025 tools against 2016 code that no one is around to fix anymore.

Conclusion

EA’s 2024 anti-cheat update was bypassed almost immediately, and there is no active support team to fix these deep-seated vulnerabilities. I would rather grind from a lower rank on console, like on Xbox—where the closed ecosystem makes these "ban tools" impossible to use—than risk losing thousands of hours of work on PC.

If you want to reach the true max rank of 5455 with your sanity and upgrades intact, avoid the PC version. Play on Xbox or PlayStation where your progress is actually safe.

Also yes I know I have a lot of hours on this game on pc previously because I played it on here a lot, as counted by steam it’s 894.4 hours, but I am now choosing to avoid playing this on here even after lots of playtime of it, because of the things I said in this review.

I do love this game and do recommend it, because it’s one of my favourites and is very fun, but unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend it on steam or pc right now, elsewhere yes, but not here, because of the state it’s in on pc right now.
