you should DEFINITELY try the new Starbound update. its a whole new game. you literally have to start at the begining again, but there's story and NPC's with quests, and special boss levels...and more.

Shovel Knight is really fun, and its challenging without being off putting. You get frequent save points so you learn how to beat most anything in the game. and the powerups you can buy by leveling in easier areas are pretty sweeeeet

I can really see why people like it so much, especially for 100% free. That passives tree is insane! Also I've actually played other games with similar "currency" systems, and that can be fun to kinda delve into too!
