Good idea, half baked execution. It could be great in a few months to a year if they listen to the feedback. Currently, $20 would be a better price point.

The combat loop gets pretty repetitive since there's one map and only a few starting locations. The enemies aren't even variable. If they used some procedural generation techniques and added some other enemies, then it'd be better.

I used to enjoy the Boxhead series, but this feels like it might have taken 2 weeks, maybe 3, to make. It has been frustrating that the game doesn't have a window size dropdown or the ability to manually resize the window.

I'm playing on an Ultrawide via Proton. I've had only one bug so far, which was the audio not working in the intro cinematic. There is a Horizontal FOV slider to help with playing on an Ultrawide, though it'd be nice if there were some other options. For example, a HUD boundary limit feature would be a great addition. I keep missing notifications in the top right part of the screen.

Overall, the performance is solid, the story is interesting, and there seems to be a lot of dialogue paths even near the start of the game.

There is potential for this game, but the progression is annoying.

Unless I'm missing something, it doesn't seem like you can beat the first level without upgrades. I've played 3 rounds and have yet to find a single crystal. I end up losing because the difficulty increases, I hit the max tower limit, and then don't have enough souls to check the entire map. Being forced to lose a level, rather than failing from skill, is not fun.

Currently, the game is frustrating. It could be decent, but I don't recommend it at the moment.
