This is one of the best games I've played in a long while, and frankly I while I knew immediately from the trailer that I was going to be really into the story and presentation, the thing I wasn't ready for was to somehow find such engaging gameplay in a game with more or less completely standard turn-based jrpg combat - something it achieves through a few canny decisions, like having enemies be enough of a finite resource that you can't grind, in addition to the combat being difficult enough - and having sufficient stakes in terms of progress lost - to make you actually care about strategy.

I cannot recommend this game enough. despite the claims of it being around 10 hours, I've put in a couple runs and hunted down enough extras to have somehow put over 50 hours in it.

Without a doubt, one of the most passionately developed games I have ever had the pleasure of playing. This game is triumphant, sombre, and oozes care and love from every pixel.

You are missing out if you do not play this game.

This game is unlike any other I've ever played. I wish there were more games that gave a feeling like this. The way you slowly unravel the secrets of this universe, watching as pieces fall into place, realizing new places to go and then going there, until finally having gathered all the knowledge required to beat the game, is an incredible feeling. It's a fantastic mystery and I was drawn in every step of the way, and completely satisfied as well.

Absolutely gorgeous from start to finish. This is a masterpiece of a game that continued to amaze me with its creativity and ingenuity until the very end.
