Mystery of the Malign is a beautiful game. Its the perfect balance of straightforward and hands off with its detective work-I filled up about five pages of notes and solved the mystery in about 10 hours time. While I didn't solve all of the details, I did get to the bottom of it for a satisfying conclusion.

Make no mistake, this is a game you really need to think-It will not solve itself for you if you just run back and forth yapping to everyone. That's what makes it great. It felt like a more grounded Obra Dinn, as its notebook system shows some direct inspiration. If I had one complaint, its system has some gaps with questions that are rather hard to answer with its prompts-This isn't the end of the world, as you can solve the mystery without 100% solving each little box. Gameplay wise, I was also deeply pleased-The way the game takes it and the player seriously, I felt that no effort was made to waste my time, and no hand holding was involved either. I encountered very little moon logic, though of course It is very easy to miss a clue, but that is why you should be thorough and take notes.

Graphics wise, I was grinning ear to ear when I realized just how much it felt like a Thief level, and grinning even moreso when I saw some of the more overt homages. The fictional world depicted is also really pleasing to explore and understand and I truly hope the author makes some sequels in this universe. I loved the mystery team and their subtle characterizations, and I started to feel rather attached to them toward the end of the game. Its among those great experiences where you feel a little upset that the story has ended, only because you were so immersed in it, and having so much fun in its world. Overall I loved everything about this game and wish there was more.

I loved this game. It constantly changes up its challenges, and has some decently long distances to cover. It becomes meditative while retaining challenge.

negative reviews seem to consist solely of people who just wanted to play the first game again. frostpunk 2 tells you from the first 5 minutes it is a different game, with a bigger scale and different challenges and systems. if you dont want that, don't buy it. that said, the game has plenty of challenge, dread, and hope, and is worth the purchase if you want another good survival city sim. I've been playing on hard mode and consistently teetering on the edge of defeat, in a good way

I greatly enjoyed this game. Despite utterly failing and getting the worst ending, it was totally deserved and *perfect*.

Trepang2 Bangs. The plot is, well, all over the place and shouldn't be the players main focus, where the game shines is in its gameplay and graphics, and sound. The deafening noise of combat, screams, showers of sparks and gore is legitimately some of the best in any shooter i've ever played, and its absolutely worth 30 dollars and 15 hours of your time. Just don't get stuck on the story.

ignore the bug comments lmao. Hunt showdown is a very polished game and continually brings me back to play it. Ive only seen the game bug out maybe 4 times in the near 400 hours i have in it. There is some sort of bizarre fetish players have of saying the game is bugged beyond belief, but for some reason i keep seeing these same people continue playing it for over a thousand hours....

Aside from that, as other reviews will say, hunt is a thrilling game where every victory feels hard earned and every moment feels tense. You quickly start to think like a hunter, counting your shots, placing traps, planning your attack, you realize the value of patience and ability to stay cool under pressure and suddenly, before you know it, you'll have a couple hundred hours and you will know your purchase was well worth it.
