While I had fun with the game, similar to other reviews I saw, the visual style takes a lot of clear "inspiration" from Balatro from literally the moment you open the game. There's undoubtedly mechanical potential here, but I can't help but feel it's trying to ride Balatro's coattails with this in mind.

All the fun and hype of fighting games without the execution barrier of fighting games, and for $5, an easy buy for fighting game fans.

As the resident puzzle game fan, this game does a fantastic job of sucking you in, it's almost evil , easily a 4 out of 5 in my book.

Better than The Last of Us II

This is one of the best rhythm games I have ever played, and I'm confident in saying that with only 2 hours in it at present.
The music is incredible, the gameplay, while being simple enough to play with only one button, has enough depth where it doesn't ever feel stale or repetitive. The story is legitimately engaging and leaves you wanting to see what happens next, and in a *rhythm game* no less. Plus, with the inclusion of "night shifts" and custom levels made by the community, not only does this game have plenty of replayability, but the possibilities are quite literally endless. For the price this game is more than worth it if you have even the slightest interest in rhythm games.

Slay the Spire is a fantastic fusion of deckbuilding and roguelikes, it's as simple as that. If you're a fan of deckbuilding games and roguelike RPGs, you'll more than likely love this game.
