I went into this game blind, not knowing what kind of game it would be. The more I played the more I fell in love with the city and the people.

Defintely a unique experience! Interested in checking out the dlc now.

After beating the game, I'd say I rather enjoyed it. But I mostly stuck around for the writing which has always been my favourite part of the overlord series. While you theres less emphasize on the minions to solve puzzles, they are still an important key to defeating the harder enemies.

As far as dungeon crawls go it wasn't bad, but there was much that could have been added, more variety in enemy types as well as bosses. There were porptions of the game where I was navigating through the level with no enemies or loot to gather, those parts were a bit tideous.

Performance wise I did notice a few framerate issues in the later levels, but I expect those will be patched out within the next few days.

This isn't an overlord 3, so don't go into it expecting that. But if you are looking for a casual romp through some dungeons with some buddies then you can't go wrong. Especially if you liked the writing of the previous overlord games.
