A honest review for 'From The Depths'

In this review, I will try my best to write a review of this game in the least bias way possible, even though this is without a doubt my favourite game.

First, Let's start with the most obvious con that you will see in almost every review; the learning curve. This game requires an immense amount of dedication, the tutorials are alright but they barely help at all. I, personally, bought this game after watching a youtuber named 'Lathland' complete multiple series so I started with a decent amount of knowledge. If you are a fast learner you will find it will take at least 50 hours to build a small boat only to find out that it is not big enough to house all the vital components you need. after 100 hours you will be familiar with the basics of the game but that is when the user experience deviates for each player; some will uninstall the game due to the difficulty and them getting their souls crushed after getting obliterated in the campaign. and the rest will keep messing around in designer mode and keep getting better.

The reason why this game is my personal favourite is that it is one of those games where you can be thousands of hours into it and still be learning new things. I have made plenty of vehicles in my time playing this game; each one better than the last. After completing every vehicle I say to myself "This thing is so overpowered! how could I possibly ever make something that can beat it?!" then the very next vehicle is better. This pattern continued for the rest of my user experience. Don't get me wrong though, there definitely are flaws that can lead to some plain ridiculously overpowered creations that should not exist and are to be killed with fire before it breads (I'm talking about several cannons clipping inside each other with spin blocks) but that is what gives this game such a special place in my heart.

I bought this game with an open mind, no expectations and no previous knowledge of the franchise. I must say that this game is one of the best in my steam library since I am a fan of RTS and building games. although the game doesnt provide much in creative freedom it does allow for some interesting strategies. Although this game does require a beefy computer my Macbook air ( early 2015 model) is able to run it reliably on minimum graphics. The game has its ups and downs but is extremely fun to play with friends, whereas new players trying to jump into multiplay matches stand little to no chance since the people who play this game are either new or veterans.
