Wonderful theming, lots of scheming! Hell is a true bureaucracy, and the game revolves around making plans, and thwarting the plans of rivals. Plays more like a board game than a true 4X. Async multiplayer allows for playing with friends on different schedules.

Dread Delusion is a game that leans into it's strengths. Superb exploration, music, and writing made this game hard to put down. It has flaws, as many have mentioned the combat is basic, and there are more to uncover. However, simply put, this world is worth the price of admission. It's characters are fascinating and engaging. The story is refreshingly focused and wonderfully told. You will make few choices, but those dilemmas will be enthralling, maybe even a little maddening. There are no right decisions, no perfect answers, only shades of grey amidst complex times in a broken world.

If what I've said is enough to intrigue you, go in as blind as possible, turn on hard mode (normal is trivial), and play anything but a Might character.

Last Epoch is an excellent game. Whose reputation has been marred by an admittedly shaky first few days of launch.

Highlights:
___________________________

* Combat feels great. Punchy sound effects, good visuals and responsive animations.

* Meaningful depth. A lot of character choice and build decisions are provided without sacrificing accessibility. While it's not the staggering depth of Path of Exile, there's far more on offer here than Diablo 4.

* Best gamepad support of any ARPG. I frequently swap between using mouse and keyboard and a controller. Thoughtful UX decisions make looting and menu navigation much less tedious.

* Crafting is unique, every item has "Forging Potential" which is basically how much you can tinker with it. The game provides a lot of cool ways to tinker.

* Beautiful, varied environments and some really nice music.

* Fun campaign. (Personally I liked it more than Path of Exile's campaign but less than Diablo 4s)

* Player character models are a little lackluster compared to the rest of the games visuals

* The actual plot of the story is just okay, it's a bit all over the place

* No Cycle Challenge Rewards yet

Don't sleep on this one if you're an ARPG fan. With the launch issues now resolved, this is an easy recommend.

My impression of Dinkum after 30 minutes of play was that it was a cute, competent clone of Animal Crossing with an Aussie spin.

10 hours later, I can happily say I was wrong, this game has hooked me far more than New Horizons. Dinkum is a fun, relaxing, thoughtfully designed indie game. One that adds several of it's own compelling features while adding depth to classic AC and Stardew mechanics.

Outside of features, lot of effort was put into refining the core gameplay loop of your average day. There's always something to do, and the game is always nudging you to try everything. Tasks, favors and requests feel meaningful because of the systems that surround it. On top of that, animations are snappy, you don't have to sit through a 15 second animation on your 100th bug catch (Though you can, if you want to). You always feel like you're progressing; just by doing what YOU feel like doing that day.

If you're on the fence, and love Stardew or Animal Crossing, you should try this game. Also, the currency is called Dinks... so yeah, pretty great.

Some minor improvements I'd like to see:
+ Input remapping for keyboard/controller
+ More features on biomes AND/OR add a couple more biomes. They are a great idea for this type of game but they could be fleshed out a little better. Give me more insects, landmarks, hard to find crafting materials etc to discover.
+ Insect behavior fleshed out more, while still fun is a little lackluster compared to something like AC. So far I haven't run into any animals that hide under rocks, or stuck on a tree. It feels like most bugs just spawn in their biome/time/season

At it's best, it's like hide and seek on steroids. Spooky nightmare steroids. Game-play that is a blend of stealth, tactics and mechanical skill that create an engaging back-and-forth between killer and survivors. The result is an engaging experience where each side is trying to both physically and strategically outmaneuver the other.

Unfortunately the game is very often _not_ at its best. Matchmaking can take forever and often can be atrociously unbalanced. Disconnects are barely penalized so rage-quits are common, which hurts the survivors chances tremendously. (Or just flat out ends a match if the killer leaves). Hitboxes can range from questionable to outright broken at times. I could go on. The game has it's issues.

Still, for all it's faults, of which there are many, I've never played anything quite like Dead by Daylight. It's great fun, and the devs are actively working to improve the game. But for now, prepare to put up with some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥,

Owlboy isn't just some throwback to the 90's adventures of yore. It stands on it's own as an amazing game with a beautiful soundtrack. Plus it's just damn fun.
