This game is what many titles strive for and never quite manage to pull off. It's challenging but fair, with all of its mechanics so well balanced it leaves all of the work in your hands to make your community succeed or fail. Do you harvest more wood or stone? Do you focus on hunting and gathering or fishing? Do you want the children of your community to start work right away or spend their childhood years getting an education? Once you break the mindset of immediacy and start thinking ahead, you'll succeed. It's a meta game that's never quite static and I enjoyed the hell out of that.
