This sets the gold standard on how to do remasters.

1) The graphics are not copy pasted from the old versions, they are actually redrawn in the likeness of the old versions.
2) Redid animations, castles actually crumble into a pile of stone now, instead of instantly vaporizing like the old versions.
3) All the sound (music, units) and even the voice overs of the campaign narrators are all done.
4) Combines the best of modern matchmaking systems for ranked competitive play and the Warcraft 3 style custom lobby explorer which you can freely explore and join unranked custom maps for fun.
5) Just slightly rebalanced multiplayer, but careful not to completely throw the established multiplayer traditions/meta away.

Did I also mention a return to the good old days of not having microtransactions/cosmetic shop at all?

This game is easily the most assessible of Zachtronic games, balancing difficulty and the learning curve for new comers to Zachtronic games.

The game is still not easy, however the removal of Time Limit, Space Limit and Component Limits (until bonus campaign but that's another story) means newcomers to the Zachtronic games could still get through the game with terribly inefficient solutions.

For puzzle games, the learning curve is always an issue, I am also pleased to see the learning curve has been flattened and rises gradually, unlike previous games (TIS-100 throws every mechanic at you at the start, ShenZhen I/O has serious difficulty spikes like the Sandwich maker level).

1) This game has no DLCs, you get the full game and that's it. No day 1 DLCs or whatever nonsense that attempts to deliver a partial game to you. The devs are actually good people that aren't out for squeezing every nickel and dime you have.

2) Incredible game value. 30 GBP for at least 30 hours of gameplay (more like 60+ gameplay hours if you leave no stone unturned.)

3) Incredible production values. I recall getting a kickstarter update that game is receiving voice acting, now most people would only expect the player characters and NPCs getting voice acting, but no, they went further than that. All the animals including cows, birds, fish, slugs and giant spiders are all voiced. (Need an in game talent to do that though.) They also added a narrator. This is literally the first time I've experienced something mudane such as attempting to open a locked door to actually have a narrator telling you that.

On top of that you are getting controller support, split screen co-op, tools to create your custom campaign all for free. Had this been any other developer, they would probably would have dropped that as the returns are not worth developing co-op/controller support/custom campaigns.

4) Side quests are meaningful and requires you think outside of the box. No generic kill X mobs/fetch quests of World of Warcraft kind.

How is this not GOTY 2017 baffles me, is this proof that the votes are rigged?

This game is worth every penny you paid for.

Introduction:

This is a team based (4v4) competitive Tower Defence game in which you build towers against waves increasing difficult mobs. The twist of Legion TD is that at the end of the game you send your towers (they are actually living creatures not a stone tower in the literal sense) against the enemy team's towers in a showdown. And hence the difficulty lies in you have plan not only for the waves of mobs, but towards the enemy team as well.

At higher levels of gameplay I can definately forsee build orders like Starcraft 2. There can also be pocket strategies in which one particular player does not build towers but focus on generating income through mining. So therefore I believe this game is complex enough to develop a competitive scene.

(I admit I have only seen these advanced strategies in Legion TD 1/Warcraft 3, but the selling point of Legion TD 2 is its authenticity to LTD1/War3.)

The good:

1) Plays exactly like Legion TD custom map on Warcraft III /Starcraft II. If you liked that you will like this. No controversial/unpopular mechanics changes so far.

2) No Lootboxes (for now). Very rare these days.

The bad:

1) I cannot imagine what their server infrastructure is like. This game on launch has experienced server capacity issues on the levels of Diablo 3 and Simcity 2013. No one can ever login because they are stuck at the log in screen and if you do miraculously login, you can't play a game because your username is NULL as you cannot connect to the server that holds your username as well.

I bought this on launch 20 November 2017 and found myself having connection issues. That's fine. I waited a few days and came back 23 November and it is still experiencing connections issues.

This is raising serious issues for the game's longevity. This sort of multiplayer only game need a large player base to sustain matchmaking of various skill levels, and I would hazard a guess a significant portion of the population has already refunded the game due to the game LITERALLY UNPLAYABLE.

At this rate I wonder what is your server infrastucture is like. Is it a Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz powered by a hamster wheel?

This is basially Fallout 2 (6 SPECIAL stats with points in individual skills and turn based combat) set in Post Apoclyptic Ancient Rome in Hardcore Mode.

The graphics are a little dated, but tributes to Fallout 2 and games set in Ancient Rome are very rare these days and certainly worth checking out if you are into either Fallout 2/Ancient Rome.

This isn't actually Simcity, it's actually Dominion (the deck building board game) meets Tetris with a City Building theme.

Bascially, you have a deck, you will need to fill each row with X points worth of houses to clear the row (Tetris style), but you modify your deck as you play, removing low value cards and adding high value cards into your deck to increase the overall value each time you shuffle (Dominion style).

For some reason it lacks Internet multiplayer (only hotseat multiplayer).

It may not be in your taste, but you cannot deny it's interesting due to its uniqueness. Is there any other video game that says COMPETITIVE CITY PLANNING?
