I have a good amount of time on h1z1 and have played through most updates now.

I love the game and believe it stands over DayZ and Rust with a margin.

This game is also not P2W whatever some stupid youtubers say. 5 dollars for a small starter kit airdrop is not worth it, and there is always a confrontation for your crate.

The devs are also very active.

However do not buy this game... the constant updates within the first week and the manner SOE go about fixing bugs is attrocious. If a bug persists or an unforseen element occurs. They remove it and all related to it from the game in its entireity. Also this is the first early access game ive seen threaten to Permaban for exploiting the game for their issues. Also these threats were only made on social media meaning that only those that follow h1z1 on such things will see this warning. A game that has not even removed the hackers which they promised would never exist. Is threatening players for simply playing the game in its entireity.

This is not a game you should buy at the start of its lifetime.
