I really enjoyed playing the game. I pretty much binged playing the game for the last 3 days and finished the campaign which totally hooked me. I only experienced couple bugs with offside dialog in the Act 2 and getting upgrade points in the Act 3.
---side note----
Then I realised that the number of upgrades I have is bigger than the amount of fame points and so after my fame points matched the number of upgrades I started to receive upgrade points again(Its a negative number bug, I imagine game starts off Act 2 with predetermined Fame Points, but if you were able to receive more fame points in previous Act and spend it, then you kind of start off with negative upgrade points and need to catch up.)

Overall, I cant say I wasn't hooked, I played for 3 days straight, so I would give 8/10 overall score. -1 for little bugs that get in a way here and there, so once those are squished its a solid 9 for a tavern tycoon.

Pretty cool concept with the war map and fps action.

The launch of the game had its hick-ups, sure. But if you look past that, after the game is stbilized, its etremely fun for what it is. Man, building your own city AND ships!? constant PvP on PvP servers, fight for resources and Experience? I cant put this game down after I started playing it, but its heck alot of fun for $30(just make sure you leave starter islands ASAP).

I have been playing since alpha 5. I have spent 219 hours playing alpha version of this game.

First off... This game is NOT fo everyone. Its a sandbox. You get thrown in directly in to the game with almost no explanation how stuff works and no purpose, no quests. This game will not hold your hand, and thats a GOOD thing. There arent many games that are designed this way. Thats right, by talking to developers you realise that they design the game to be challenging, they want you to do science, to explore!

Pros:
1.Unique. You see an island in a distance? You build a ship and go for it! You want to be a merchant? Do it! Pirate? easy!
2.Physics. They are everywhere! Who would have fought its so much fun to play with physics!? You build your ship peace by peace and see it be destroyed in a same way.
3.HUGE. You can spend weeks flying your ship from island to island and not coming across same one! But you also need to think about refueling, repairing, and player encounter!
4. Great to play with friends. There is a "crew" system in place that allows you to stay togheter with your friends, build a big ship with cannons and seek an adventure! You will have tales to remember how you barely survived creatures that atacked you or the time when you lost your ship.


Mixed:
1.Player driven. It could be a great thing! It could also mean lots of pvp. Aproach with caution if you are not in these type of games.
2.No real purpose. Its not World of Warcraft quest game. Some people find it awesome that you can do whatever you want! Some people need a quest or a endgame! Here, you do what you want to do. Create a Pirate band, Merchant guild , Bounty Hunter guild. You will need to use forums and discord to make it easier for ya thou.

Cons:
1.In development. That means bugs. Weird deaths. Lags. Like in any developing game, you need to expect that! Specially in a game of this magnitude!
2.Might feel empty towards an end game.
3.Not really fun being a lone wolf. I mean it is fun! But might get old after a while.


So... Is this game worth 30$ CAD? Definately worth every penny for experience that it provides! Its not for everyone, but if you think you like survival/Minecraft type games, grab it!

Its a good game! For this kind of RTS/MMO it is very cool! But combat system needs polish, lots of polish. First when I just got in to the game, I was a bit lost. I would recommend to try this game to everyone who is a big fun of RTS, its reminds me of Rome total war 1, but its free. Game has a lots of potential.
