Game is great, one of the best PvE experiences i have.

Sony backpaddled on 6th May, so this section is void now. Back to spreading some guided democracy.

Consider waiting until the PSN-situation settles. While it's mentioned on the storepage and on the very first launch of the game, they removed the requirement for a PSN-Account shortly after launch and plan to bring it back at the end of may. "It's required to have a linked account" does not seem to be true at all: The game worked flawlessly for 3 months now. The game made it it very easy to skip that part on the first launch and forget about it. It's not even possible to link the account right now without editing config files to make the game think it launches for the first time. How is that "required"?

They didn't lie about it, they didn't disclose that either and kept it under a table.

If you don't want to link your steam-account to a company that infamously gets breached every 3-5 years, think about waiting this out for a few weeks and then look again.

I certainly don't regret buying it after playing the demo during steam festival.

There's room for improvement (some stuff here and there, mainly informational things or minor QoL) but all in all, it's very relaxing to play, experiment around and discover new things or options to do something.

Devs already promised to look into some balancing issues (which are absolutely no dealbreaker currently) and their support is FAST!

Buy now, enjoy, look forward to the game getting even better.

Those where entertaining 5 hours on my 1st playthrough.

The most intriguing part of the game is that the player as a person, not a a character, becomes part of the surveillance-machine with his actions and decisions. The Information you collect molds the picture of the person you investigate. You decide, which information get into the file and, if there are conflicting chunks (articles from different times, statements from different persons, rumors), which one will get into the system. Every chunk you pass is treated as a fact by the system and nactions on these are mandatory, so beware of consequences. It's terrifying how easy it is to put those people you check in categories and how the investigations progress while you play.

Regarding the presentation, the player sees what the character sees (i.e, the orwell-UI, apart from the intro), there's no speech and the art-style of the photos may not be everyone's taste and sometimes look strange. Nevertheless, the game still manages to evolve an intense atmosphere after the 1st episode with almost text only, only by viewing live-chat and call protocols.

All usable data-chunks are marked by orwell and only (more or less) relevant information for the current day are available. Even if you could add information for a person's file which WILL become relevant later, orwell wouldn't let you create a file on that person until the game tell you to. The player may encount "useful" information which is not a chunk and can not be added to the file. Although this is counter-intuitive sometimes, this mechanism keeps the game on track and the player only focuses on relevant events and persons. Just think: If you can not add it, it's not relevant to the plot or you can get the same information from elsewhere.

All in all, a good expierence and i was surprise on how the narrative and the mechanics both worked out.
8/10
