gonna miss my beasts but like any far cry game it ends up being a scavenger hunt in the end

this is an interesting one though and if you havnt played a far cry game in a while i would recommend it

excellent entry to the series

gotta play it on survivor, its the proper balance

It's certainly not bad for 2004, but the controls would have been janky back then too. I'm not sure what happened but it's trying to copy the old Rainbow 6 controls, maybe, but it gets lost in the mix. You can figure it out after a while but the controls are still never great. But, it's still got a lot going for it. The open map design is nice, while there is a best way to do things the maps are open enough that you can do what you want, something a lot of games lack. Think of the maps like puzzles to solve. For fans of old FPS games give it a shot, otherwise go right to V2 as it's actually really really good.

On the other hand this game is old school hard, so if that's your thing, saddle up.

this game is expensive but lets get down to brass tacks here real quick, the two dirt rally games have been the best on the market for a while and are absolutely worth the money.

dirt rally 2 isnt better than dirt rally 1, thats kind of confusing to say but both have their place and dirt 2 introduces more cars and stages, somewhat better graphics, make sure to turn off some of the options if you even want to see properly out the windshield in dirt rally 2. as a package its better and not worth getting dirt rally 1 at this point.

the handling model is pretty great on loose surfaces, but to be sure i havnt crashed 1000 subaru imprezas pro drive wrxs into trees at 100 kph except in racing games. ive played em all. from rally legends, colin mcrae 2.0, richard burns rally. dirt rally 2 holds up very well.

i have crashed cars, motorcycles, bicycles, skateboards, skis, and basically everything i have ever made a mode of transport in real life though, and the sheer panic when you loose control that this game provides is about accurate to the real deal.

for an accessible rally sim with a laundry list of cars each with their own personality and very well designed courses the pros very much out weight the cons

i give it a 9/10 only because i want them to absolutely nail it and its not quite perfect

if you are into rally games its a must buy
