I was enjoying it first, but then I swear the game is hard coded to give me the worst possible outcomes. The dice rolls in this game is literally Murphy's Law on where anything that can go wrong will go wrong. The game is well designed and all but the terrible rng is getting to me. I'm not even picking the things that make my life difficult, the game just gives me the metaphorical middle finger.

I've watched the anime of this vn and it didn't make sense and it was way too rushed, so I decided to just go to the source material instead, and I am glad that I did. The main girl of this episode is Noa, a cute chuuni girl. This game is the cumulation of the prequels so I do not think this should be the first episode that someone should play. This episode has probably the most amount of character growth and progression, while this episode is focused in noa as the main girl, you still get a lot of interaction with other characters, it felt like we are in the same timeline as the third episode with slight changes. This episode got you looking at the events at the prequels and that is how our timeline of romancing noa comes to be. It’s pretty obvious that we are romancing Noa but the story doesn't force this and it takes its time with the flow of the story without dragging it out too much. It’s bittersweet to see this series end in a way as you can see how the previous chapters built up to this moment. A lot has happened and to me it seems like that the narrative properly explain any big lingering questions. It was nice to see the protagonist become a capable lead character. His character kinda falls onto those pervy or other tropes but honestly it's pretty normal for his age. I would just expect him to be more traumatized, but he still holds true to his cool and capable personality, which works in its own way. This episode is more or less all about tying up loose ends, saving everyone, and defeating the villain. The pacing was a bit staggered for me, but I felt the narrative balanced the bulk of it. Although I'd like to see what happened to the timeline on where iris was killed because I wanted to know what happen on that branch since every girl is dead and yoichi is ded. And of course, I played with the 18+ patch so idk how it was like without it. The scenes are fairly spread out in the middle end and at the end unlike the third episode which basically shoved it all at the end. The CGs get really good here as it really did impact the emotions that the characters felt or feel. From episode 1 to 4, this is a great conclusion to the series that only stumbles in the pacing of a few points of the story. But honestly I enjoyed practically every second of it. It enhanced the memories made in the prequels while building a new timeline of events to provide a unique experience to readers.

I've watched the anime of this vn and it didn't make sense and it was way too rushed, so I decided to just go to the source material instead, and I am glad that I did. The focus on this episode title is Haruka, my favorite girl in this series by far. If you have read episode two, it is pretty apparent on what kind of choice changed the timeline in this universe as it is more apparent and clear. Albeit I've played these series consecutively so I have a fresh mind on what happened all the way through. Anyway, that fact does help me see the story flow more naturally, making each characters feel natural. While the story goes on, a lot of questions and plot points are cleared up as the mystery of the the story becomes uncovered. The tone of this episode is pretty much more tense when I compare to the other two by far, as there seems to be more on the line as the cast realize there’s a real danger out there. This allowed the story to show a side of the characters as they weigh out all their options and try to determine the next course of action. There are two different endings here, but frankly I didn't know that at first since I've installed the 18+ patch and had all the choices ready for me. Honestly, the character development for everyone in the series goes by a long shot now that the story is finally becoming more serious. It is always good to see multiple sides of the characters, I mean that both figuratively and literally. The friendship development was well throughout the episode, and it is believable enough based on how well they learn to trust each other. And this also affects the way how the main heroine uses her power as well. However this does feel like that it isn't really that friendly to someone who hasn't read the first two episodes. But luckily I am not that person so what can I say. Although there are less humorous banter this time around, but the game still has plenty of lighthearted moments as well as funny scenes. Lastly, of course, the art does not disappoint. Though I've noticed that there isn't that much at the start.. But anyway, I fully recommend this one but I pretty much would advice reading the first and second episode first for maximum immersion. Lastly, at the end, I love on how the game showed us on why this series is called 9-nine.

I've watched the anime of this vn and it didn't make sense and it was way too rushed, so I decided to just go to the source material instead, and I am glad that I did. The main girl for this episode is sora, the protagonist's sister... Ehe. From what I can see, while episode 1 didn't reveal much story wise, episode 2 at least focused more on that. This episode explores on what happens when one singular choice is different from the first episode. It was an interesting read and I had a good laugh most of it. Also I can see that the character development is excellent on this one and I came to understand the everyone’s feelings for each other and how complicated those feelings might be at times. Although I was confused when I saw the three choices being basically the same thing, This later shows that this choice was there so it would be clear to the reader that the protagonist is able to change the story with a decision that might seem small at first. I found this detail interesting as little things might have a severe butterfly effect. And just like in episode one, the artworks in this episode is gorgeous. Although there is just one scene that to me, just has the funniest lines I've read in a vn. Huge credit for the legendary voice performance from the voice actor and to the localization team who very much understood the assignment on that part. I'm very glad as sora is the most consistent at being the funniest character among the four girls. And of course, I played with the 18+ patch. Gotta say, it is definitely an upgrade in quality from the first episode imo.

I've watched the anime of this vn and it didn't make sense and it was way too rushed, so I decided to just go to the source material instead, and I am glad that I did. This episode's main girl is miyako, the sweet and kind girl of the four. Anyway, I enjoyed the way that they introduced the premise of this series, being the first installment it did a good job imo. The story ended up keeping my interest in its promise and made me want to see more of the characters. While it does have a serious plot, this game still contains plenty of fluffy and light hearted scenes. The story gets serious when it’s necessary, but overall this game is very humorous. The friendship shared between the cast of characters as they joke around feels about right, but it also made me think that I was reading a SOL title instead of a supernatural mystery one. Throughout the game, we get a chance to see the main character’s everyday life as they slowly start to get closer. I think romance definitely is the main aspect of this episode, although while I don't mind that, I just thought it would be more focused on how the supernatural powers work for future fights. I installed the patch for this game and I had choices to make, I thought it didn't matter until I reached the bad end, so my *bad* on that one. Although I did of course go back and correct my wrongs which showed the true ending I think? Although I guess this would be more so like a good ending. And I am glad I did try to get it since it added more story than what I could've gotten in the 'bad end.' I think it's also neat that they offer an option to skip to the previous or go to next choice, and skip all the dialogues you've read so you could get through the second playthrough quicker. Albeit far from perfect as it probably further sets itself up for the sequels, it is still a good read. And lastly, the artworks are good, but some specific ones in my opinion, is charming and beautiful.

This visual novel is short but interesting story in a short period of time. It also isn't exactly light-hearted. Although it has screen resolution issues for me, as I cannot view it in full screen properly but it didn't affect my experience that much.

The story is about and mostly set on a parallel world in which there is nothing but an eternal rain that bathes everything. In there, you do not starve, you do not thirst, above all, you cannot die. The story begins with the start of a man that just wants to die but hesitates to do so and the past of a little girl who cannot be apologetic to the gods so she becomes remorseful (I think?). But soon it will be evident that these two are going to be connected as they are two different stories that touch on events that will then intertwine in the final part. However, while I do like the music quite a lot but it kinda gets repetitive and I have gripe with some visuals like that one time where the umbrella got fixed by the male mc but it is still shown as broken, and I cannot see the shoe being fixed as well but that might just be a me issue.

Spoilers for the game

Note that you will need to do three playthroughs to reach the true ending with each playthrough being different from each other with different endings. The pacing of this game is pretty slow for the first big stretch of the game to set up the plot, but the second and third parts pick up the overarching story a lot more for its satisfying conclusion.

Anyway, here is my review

Until then brings a bittersweet story that honestly reminds me of Makoto Shinkai's Your Name. But even so, still does something that is completely unique from it. This game's story is deeply character-driven with a slice of life feeling to it that won't be to everyone's tastes, but it's elevated with its amazingly well-written characters and natural dialogues that feels just right. This game has some science fiction elements that slowly teases itself throughout the progression of the story but it's hardly covered much and treats is more so like a passing glance until the final part of the story. Most of the story focuses on the characters and their relationships as it allows the story to breathe and put more elements onto it on a measured pace, but I feel like they could've done more things with the sci-fi stuff but that's just me. I don't think this is a visual novel since you'll spend much of the game controlling where the character goes on a 2d or semi 3d path from set piece to set piece with occasional scenes that focuses on the phone by reading texts and holding whatever key you hold to text, to be honest idk why they decided this was a good idea. And these text messaging parts are where interactivity is in its lowest and I admit, some just go on for too long and how that much bothers you will depend on how well you can tolerate visual novel-esque type of reading. Personally, I don't really mind as most of my favorite dialogues are in these parts. The pacing of this game is kind of odd in my opinion, it goes from alright, kinda slow, somewhat slow, quicker, and then in the latter half, a bit too quick. I swear, I spent half of my playtime just on the first chapter alone. And only an eight of my playtime on the third chapter. See why I think the pacing is weird? Oh and also, getting all achievements are just phaked. These minigames is just really confusing at times, I had to open the control settings just to find what keys I have to press for that ddr rhythm game lmfao. The fishball one is fine, and the ones in the fair are also fine, but the tossing of the 20 peso coin minigame is just phaked, at the time I am writing this review, I spent 30 minutes to get the damn achievement for it but I just can't do it. Call it a skill issue if you want but there is so way that minigame is properly timed. I can't comment much on the graphics since I literally had to delete the shader cache in my files and set graphics to the lowest settings possible, but if I have to say something about it, I'll just say it looks alright. Anyway, going deeper into the game's story, I like on how this game wonderfully portrays grief, specifically how this game uses recurring timelines to tell the main casts' stories and how their experience is actually very much rooted in real life. 'Until then' hammers in one of the biggest themes of the game: grief. Most people normally view grief in a very linear way or pattern. We go by to live our lives, experience loss and then grief, and try to go back to some kind of normality to feel better. One of the most popular ways people describe grief is with the five stages of grief, Denial, Anger, Bargain, Depression, and then Acceptance. Which is like I said, a very linear way of looking at it. However, we're slowly coming to accept that grief isn't as simple and as linear as we think while there are many ways to experience grief as it is something very personal everyone experiences. I say this because on how this game presents grief is just like what I have said. The execution of the recurring timeline element of the story is an amazing way to represent being caught in that cycle of grief, while the timelines are an artistic metaphorical representation of grief. One of the way the game shows this is by showing one of the characters looking back to the past like remembering the passing of someone, or looking back thinking they could've done more or seeing something that reminded him of his childhood. These things may be triggered by feelings or regret or guilt or longing for the lost loved one. Processing the events and trying to feel a fleeting connection. Across all these themes, one thing is always present. The experience of either being stuck in the past or wanting to go back to the past. Until then, takes this quite literally. Instead of mentally being stuck in the past, the game portrays the protagonists as literally going back and forth between the past and present in the form of reliving their lives over and over, literally. "I'm still here despite all that has changed, despite all that has been lost, I'm still here and the world moves." The protagonists pulled a trigger to change their mentality, they realize that they need to start living in the present again. They increasingly become more aware of their situation, they increasingly becoming more aware that they're living their lives over and over. They were so caught up in this overwhelming grief that everything is a blurry mess. Everything falls apart, but at the same time, everything becomes more clearer, they just wanted to fix things, but realized that there is no fixing something that's already lost. It's a presentation of grief to the bereaved grief feels like being stuck in time, stuck in a never ending Loop over living the past and wanting to go back to the past. Its tight grip may feel like it can hold on for a lifetime maybe even a hundred lifetimes. The game says that even if it may feel like the end of the world, you're still here, and the world hasn't ended.

My closing thoughts
I had a good time playing through the game despite the nipicks I have. Like some cliche tropes, I still had a good time playing through this game. I like how the story is presented but I don't really love it per se, although I want to love it. The story isn't really predictable and keeps you on guessing from the start all the way to the end, albeit on the major plot points, the minor ones I can predict quite well oddly enough. The characters feel nice and they are pretty memorable. And lastly, I bought this game on a discount so I truly have made my money worth.

After playing this game for a while, I can say this game is a pretty fun multiplayer game that is best played with friends. Although you can join random rooms or make your own. This game has two modes: PvE and PvP.

PvE is the most played one as currently it's the most fun considering where the game is at right now. The objective of PvE in this game is to beat the boss in the level. The game has enough randomness aspect into it that not all rounds will ever be the same, but this game also incorporate enough fixed aspect to it that the game isn't 100% luck reliant and requires game knowledge/game sense to win in the current match.
PvP is the neglected child, as it rarely receives updates. It also has some.. "Interesting" things going on. Since the only ally is yourself, that won't stop people targeting you. However, this is bad when it comes for new players, because if they join a random room and it turns out that they just joined a group that has 3 people on call, they can target that new player which is the odd one out among them and make then leave the game, so just watch out for that. In this mode, what it takes to win is to pray that quite a lot of things go your way. Of course there are a few things you can do to spin things your way without needing luck, but if you're getting hyper ♥♥♥♥♥♥ by rngesus then you will probably lose. This mode is more so a fun luck based gamemode where you can do a little bit of trolling and tomfoolery.

The rounds of both modes last around an hour in average, but it is possible to speedrun PvP in 30 minutes if you coordinate it. All characters have their own usage and can often perform well if you play good enough. There is really no such thing as pay to win on this game since you can get all the characters for free over time if you play enough. You can boost progress through buying things via micro-transactions but the grind isn't really that bad imo. I do want to talk about the collab characters though (as of writing this, it's just Ame and Kangel from Needy Streamer Overload). The collab characters are a bit stronger than the others, Ame is crazy strong though they have to make money somehow so which is why it feels they are a little bit better than the rest of the cast which I am fine with. Anyway, don't mind the character nicknames too much, the focus is the gameplay. And lastly, right now as of typing this, the community is pretty friendly and the toxicity has died down which is nice, although communication in the actual round is limited to stickers and preset chats which is both a good thing and a bad thing in its own right.

Honest game review below

I have been playing Blue Archive for at least 3-4 years now, and so I am glad that the Blue Archive steam client runs great in my 5yo laptop(hag laptop fr), and the boot time is a faster than my phone too. However, loading time to get into combat is almost as slow as my phone if not more, although I can probably fix that with a few tweaks. It is quite a shame that we cannot add custom keybinds though. Moving on, Blue Archive is a gacha game. And with any gacha game this game has a gacha currency. This currency is called "pyroxenes" or "pyrox" for short. I want to say this before we go on further.

So anyways, here is my brutally honest review:

Graphics/Look of the game - Blue Archive's story is presented in a Visual Novel so there isn't much to say about this part, but the part where we play the game looks pretty nice. All areas have their own details and unique design. Although some are just day/night version of each other.

Gameplay - Blue Archive in its core is a simple game. You have 4 students who will be deployed in the field and two students who will be in the backline to help support the team or deal damage to enemies. These students then generates you cost for you to use a variety of skills with varying costs with different effects. The game can feel pretty slow at first because you won't have 3x speed but it won't take long to get that 3x speed and progress faster. As of writing this review, these are currently the modes the game has:
> Campaign, this is where you will be at most in the early game. The campaign levels includes a board where you can command your students to move on places. This is also where you learn about the different mechanics of the game early on. There is a hard mode which makes the board not fully visible but all the visible parts will stay when you restart.
> Bounty, this is where you will be getting half of your materials in the late game. The objective of this mode is to defeat tanky and even deadly mini bosses who run away after getting them at a low enough hp. I say deadly because I see an on level tank almost die here. But this mode does give you buffs depending on the students used.
> Scrimmage, this is student on student action. This mode consist of students from specific schools and ypu must defeat them in a battle, also this is for very late game players who needs the materials here. Newer players can afford to ignore this mode as this is pretty hard to defeat early on.
> Commissions, there are two types. One is to clear waves of small enemies and the other is to defeat a standing target a set amount of times. This mode should be ignored and only be cleared for the pyroxenes. Unless if there is a bonus then it is worth considering. In my opinion the earlier stages doesn't feel like they give rewards to the stamina spent, but oh well someone has probably done the numbers already.
> Total Assault & Grand Assault, this is where you put most of your resources building for. Total Assault and Grand Assault, TA & GA for short, consists of a variety of bosses with different mechanics and different ways to deal damage. Most of the time, you have to engage with the boss mechanics to be able to defeat them. Imo players in the early-mid game shouldn't pay that much attention to this raid anyway because they can always just borrow a very strong dps unit and steamroll the lower difficulties. Lastly, I do think that locking good raid mechanics behind higher difficulties a mixed bag.
> Joint Firing Drill, this mode makes used of more niche mechanics in this game or has a unique set of challenge/s to beat. This is content that you probably shouldn't pay attention to. Some players even just ignore it which is pretty understandable. I do still recommend clearing at least the lower levels though because what you get from it might come in handy in the future.
> Final Restriction Release, is a mode where you fight different bosses(three in total as of writing this, and yes I am including the one in jp). These bosses have their own mechanics that is mandatory to follow if you want to defeat them. Unless of course you are way above difficulty level and can get away with not following it at all.
> Tactical Challenge, is this Blue Archive's form of pvp. This is mode is pretty simple. You deploy students like how you usually do, and the enemy also has students deployed. You have no control on what skills your students use and the enemy also does not. Most of the time it is usually fine to just claim the daily pyroxenes and then pay it no mind.
> Events, there are two types. First are the events that have stories that are uniquely tied to it. These kinds of events also has the classic campaign experience, and challenges which has it's own unique mechanics too. You can gain event currencies from these events, which is increased further if you clear stages with specific units. These event currencies can be used in the event shop which hosts a good amount of resources. While the other type of event are fillers that gives resources. Most if not all of them just lets you go do your dailies and you can gain resources from it.

Music - Blue Archive has futuristic themes of music. Or at least that's what I think. Anyway, Blue Archive's music are just bangers. In the game, it fits well on what is on the screen. I am pretty sure one of the famous one is usagi flap, which is not Aris' theme stop saying it is!!

Grind - Ah yes the grind. The hardest part of this game. Although it is made easier with the sweep system. You will use this feature A LOT. The early game grind consists of you playing the game to get as far as you can in the campaign as you possibly can and to unlock as much things/stages as possible. The mid game grind is where most players at imo. You gradually unlock every stage in the campaign, clear all scrimmages and bounty levels. If you have done that, you must sweep for more mats and gradually climb on beating higher difficulties in TA & GA or Final Restriction Release.

Story - It's amazing. It's pretty tame early on but the further you go the better it gets. I won't say much here because the story is one of this game's best selling points.

Overall, I think that if you want to play a cute and funny epic anime rpg and don't mind it being gacha, then you should definitely give the game a shot! Remember that blue archive, besides the raids, is an easy game. So no need to rush to go beat the highest level content and take your time. If you are starting out for the first time though, play the game for a while and get a feel of it. If at the end you want to be able to beat the hardest content in the hardest level, then you must prepare yourself. Because blue archive is a very *very* slow game. All the things you have to grind for the endgame needs to be completed to sweep. And that is what you will be doing at the endgame, just sweeping for 6 months minimum and 8 months on average to get started on tackling the hardest content. However, if you are here only for the cute and funny, amazing storytelling and banger music, then pull whoever you like and love! Don't let other people tell you what to do. And to end all of this, I just want to say.. Make sure to keep yourself satisfied, sensei. Be it in losing gallons or clearing content, may we be united in CORRECTING ARONA FOR MAKING US SPARK ONCE AGAIN 💢💢💢
