I will start this off with the TLDR: I would recommend this game to anyone that likes rpgs. If you're on edge about turn based rpgs this is a great game to dip your toes in the water.

I will get the worst part of the game out of the way; the grinding. The game can be grindy with the amount of floors in the dungeon. As time goes on and you get stronger the grind gets easier but in the beginning its a pain. I wont lie most of my playtime was probably spent grinding the dungeon for more money and items to sell for more money in order to pimp out my team. Hell, one item cost ¥500,000. and that took quite a while to grind out just so I could make my healer a little safer. That is really the only issue that I have with the game, which to some may be a big turn off but I think everything else that the game contains makes its very easy to look past the grind. --I recommend just putting on a video in the background or another screen and just going through the dungeon leisurely. i did that in the middle of the game and it helped make the grind less of a pain.

Now is time for the good. One of the first things you'll notice is the beautiful art between the game play, cut scenes and the animated scenes there wasn't a time that it felt bland. Even small interactions such as brushing a dog or pulling out your phone are well executed. The next thing you may notice is the incredible sound track. Every song is an absolute jam and I can assure you the song "Its going down now" will get stuck in your head and that's not a bad thing you'll hear it throughout your entire time in the dungeon. The game contains many NPCs that you can build relationships with that correlate to different Arcana in a Tarot deck and they managed to make every character interesting and have enough depth that you care about them. From an old couple that run a bookstore to an overweight gourmet they all manage to hold your interest and make you want to strengthen your bond with them. I maxed out all but two on my play through and I looked forward to talking to each one of them. So now that the art, music and characters have been covered all that's left is the story.
I wont mention much about the story as I believe you should go into this game blind and on a ng+ go for the 100%. The story was great, the pacing wasn't bad and it wasn't convoluted. You knew what and why you were doing what you did in the story. The ending that I had was great and it brought closure to the story in a way that left me feeling content.

I don't typically write this much about a game but I felt so compelled to write this after sitting through the credits. I will more than likely play in ng+ later down the line but I have two more Persona games to play that I look forward to.

Update for 1100 hours: Still hate this game.

First, I'd like to say that this is time playing a Visual Novel as none of the ones that popped up in my store caught my eye. I got it on sale and figured I'd give it a try to break up the monotony of playing League and EFT. I was instantly drawn in to the story, being interested in the every day of every character presented. I can't think of a any day in the game that particularly boring, most all were engrossing. The art is fantastic and they did a great job with what they had! The sound track is also great I certainly recommend getting it. Overall this game is worth every penny, and I genuinely recommend it to my friends!
