Twee decennia na dato is Half-Life 2 nog steeds één van de beste computerspellen ooit gemaakt. Het was destijds de eerste serieuze release op het Steam-platform en het was de inspiratie voor een hele generatie games die erna kwam. Na de recente "20th Anniversary Update" waarmee de game technisch is geüpdatet voor de moderne tijd en kosteloos is samengevoegd met Episode One en Episode Two is er gewoon geen excuus om deze game niet in je bibliotheek te hebben.

Total War: ROME REMASTERED is een adequate remaster van mijn favoriete spel in de Total War franchise. Mocht je de originele game gewend zijn, dan zou de matige AI en unit pathfinding (twee issues die reeds aanwezig waren in het origineel) en de nieuwe user interface je tegen kunnen vallen, zoals ook aan het merendeel van de negatieve recensies op deze pagina te zien is.

Zelf ben ik ook opgegroeid met de originele Rome: Total War, maar wegen deze minpunten voor mij niet op tegen de pluspunten. De grafische opfrisser (vergeet niet de gratis 4K Enhanced Graphics Pack te installeren!), de Workshop-integratie, en de toevoeging van bijna 200 achievements zorgen ervoor dat je (weer) menig uur kunt terugkeren naar de klassieke oudheid.
