Ah yes, gayday - everything you need for a perfect game right? No. You are dead wrong. Editing the last review and replacing it with something rather in-details since as for Nov 2020, I feel like I am simply done with the game for good.
As for my nearly 1600 hours of experience, I have noticed several flaws with this game, though it does not mean that it has no upsides. I'll try to go all over them.

Pros:

(+) If you have a bunch of friends, or you are confident enough to play in random lobbies, the game can be pretty much a big fun for hundreds of hours, even thousands.

(+) Variety of weapons which allows you to create many and many builds for all difficulties and playstyles so there's always something for everyone.

(+) As for now there are about 40 DLCs (?) which are an easy way to support game creators and extend your fun with the game for a coupe of hours.

(+) Payday 2 is really easy to mod which allows PD2 community to help out game's lifespan to some extend. There are plenty of mods to help you either enjoy the game even more such as balance mods or pure graphic enhancements.

Cons:

(-) Many methods of progress skipping are still working in 2020 and they basically ruin one's experience by for instance joining a very high Crime Spree and getting enough EXP to immediately get level 100 after Infamy.

(-) Payday despite being on Steam since years, still has a shiz ton of bugs that haven't been fixed yet. At some point for many people the game is basically unplayable due to the amount of bugs and glitches.

(-) Game has no Anti Cheat system so it shouldn't be a problem for you to find a chester in this game. There are plenty and easy enough to install for a 12 year old. Game has something to prevent them from joining but I never really thought people would seriously need to cheat in a game with such an easy progres skipping.

(-) Payday has a lot of reskins which are either literally the same as their counterparts or completely useless such as 90% of melee weapons in this garbage game.

(-) Game has terrible optimization. Maybe it is an upside rather than a downside but it really is a gamble if it's playable for you or not. I knew some peoe struggling with it with 2080 and some reaching 100+ on high settings with a 670. As for now with my 1050 4GB and i5 7300HQ game runs terrible regardless of what you do to it. Funnily it ran smoother on my 8 year old AMD laptop than 1050. I'm planning to get 1650 super with 2700x in 2021 so I might update this part someday.

Summing it all up, the game can be enjoyable but it still really is pain in the bum to run it properly without any issues. As for 1600~ hours of gameplay, I wouldn't give it more than 4/10. It is very far from perfect but there are always worse titles. You'd be better off with some better optimized game such as Rainbow 6 Siege, COD Modern Warfare or Devil May Cry 5.
