If this game came out a few days earlier, I would have nominate it for Outstanding Story-Rich Game.

Ok, real talk. This game flew under my radar. I only know this game through my yuri curator, and from the description, it was written by the people who worked on the Danganronpa series. Which is surprising since I know the existence of Hundred Line Defense and Tribe Nine, yet I only know Shuten Order through word of mouth. Anyway. Shuten Order is a pretty good game with an interesting storyline, though there are some rough moments, such as poor formatting and phrasing, and some gameplay styles are a slog to play through.

Shuten Order is primarily a mystery VN in finding the protagonist's killer, with gameplay style changes in different routes to make each route interesting. I really like the characters in Shuten Order, their personality and interaction with the protagonist is a blast to read. Heck, some parts of the story tug my heartstrings.

There are some issues with the formatting as some text exceeds the text box, and confusing phrasing. It could be better, but the game is still readable. Another issue is that there are parts that could be reworked. Such as the Minister of Health route being just hallways with some blind walking till the next character interaction, and the Minister of Education route being repetitive at points. Even with this annoyance, it does not hinder my enjoyment of the story, as these are only a small portion of my gripes.

Overall, I recommend the game. Also, it got Yuri, so that's a plus in my book.

This game is a nice classic platformer akin to Mario Bros 3. The sprite work is cute, especially the protagonist. However, the difficulty is classic so be prepared to die. Alot. There is no lives system and can use power in-game to ease some of the difficulty. Though, the hard levels after the game is beaten is way too tech oriented for a simple 2D platformer for my taste. All-in-all, I had a nice time from the regular gameplay and the characters are cute to keep me invested so I recommend to those who wants to play a retro-style platformer.

It got Yuri so thats a plus.

Volcano Princess is a lovely game. Raising your daughter and accidentally made her a war criminal.

But seriously, it is a management game and min maxing your daughter is a tons of fun. Though the first play is rough as spreading resources evenly is quite the challenge and best to focus on one resources to fulfil a goal. Overall, is best to play the game at your leisurely pace and seeing your daughter grow is heartwarming.

Finally, it's been years we have two good games released back-to-back. Could we go for three?

Game so good that after I played it on Game Pass, I immediately buy two copies of it.

Sonic Frontiers made me cry. Tears of sadness for the story and tears of joy for the gameplay and music.

From my point, the port is fine. I played through Yu's and Yosuke's story mode and there are no crashes on my end. Though the UI could be upscalled since it is abit jarring but overall, Arena Ultimax is a decent port. There are some sound effects which are loud but overall audio is ok. Did not try the online battle cause don't want to be steamrolled online.

But seriously, what draws me to Ultra Despair Girls is the interaction with Toko and Komaru. I am personally doing a Danganronpa marathon after Decadence was released on the Switch and I played this game before jumping into V3 and was excited in revisiting this game in the franchise. I still liked it. Sure it is a huge departure from the visual novel game-play of Danganropa 1 and 2, but it gave a different style to see the growth and journey of a character. The gun game-play while it is a lot to be desired, is still not bad and solving the puzzles are fun. There are tons of funny interaction between the main protagonists and Komaru's growth is which causes her to be my favorite protagonist in media.

Those who are interested in the series should play both Danganronpa 1 and 2. While it is a prequel to 2, it spoils 2 a lot. Also check out a game-play video to see if it is your cup of tea, if not you could just either play the easy mode or watch the whole movie on youtube. Though I still recommend playing through it yourself as side collectibles give even further insight of both protagonists views and general world building.

I mean it is exactly what its says on the tin. A playable prototype. Its not a game you play for enjoyment but rather an insight of what it could have been. Install it if you're curious considering is free and all.
