This game is so much fun to play with friends. There isn't a whole lot of content at the moment, but that's because it's a small team working on an Early Access game. While I've run across a few bugs, there isn't anything game-breaking or rage inducing. It feels more polished than a $70 game made by a billion dollar company (looking at you EA). This is my vote for game of the year, and my most anticipated game to be updated. Absolutely worth the money, especially if you have friends to play with!

As a person who plays breakthrough as my primary gamemode, I must say I am disappointed once again. I know this game just launched and it's in MUCH better shape than 2042 was at launch, however it's missing the most important thing: fun. The maps, especially for breakthrough, are boring as sh*t. While 2042 was a complete mess for the first year, it never disappointed in the maps for me. I loved every map in that game with the exception of Manifest.

I personally think these maps are way worse. Not only did Dice lie about bigger maps, the bigger maps are still just as empty as 2042! The only difference is the maps are overall smaller, so now I stand a much greater chance of getting shot while running between cover.

Cons:
-UI is absolute trash
-Gunplay is a huge downgrade from 2042. Reducing the headshot multiplier across all weapons to appeal is the casual fan is ridiculous. The whole point of Battlefield is that players that don't have the best aim can help their team in other ways. Players like me, that like to aim for the head and clear areas by wiping squads, is almost impossible now. Taking 3 bullets to the head with hollow point ammo in a carbine is such a Call of Duty move.
-ADS is useless now. Aiming for the head is pointless, so if you aren't hip firing, you aren't going to win a fight. Again, feels way too much like Call of Duty.
-Brightness is horrible. It's either too bright or too dark.
-Breakthrough is an afterthought. They just threw down 3 sectors on each map, drew a horizontal line, and called it good. Zero opportunities for flanks leads to boring matches that end with the defenders always winning.
-Smokes locked to support is the biggest joke. Impossible to push in breakthrough.*
-Matchmaking sucks. While I love the custom search, and personally don't mind the matchmaking system, I'm sick of joining games that are over half finished.

*Dice made some tweaks to the breakthrough maps, but all they did was move the boundaries a few feet and add another tank to the attacking team on some maps. Defenders still win 75% of the matches.


Pros:
-Vehicle gameplay is much improved. I like that taking out a tank doesn't take much, but repairing a tank solo is possible.
-Devs are very active in reading feedback.
-Custom search is great, however see MM issues above.
-Loading times are extremely fast.
-Escalation gamemode is a lot of fun

There's probably a few other small items on the pro list that I missed, but I doubt they're even worth mentioning. I'm sure this game will continue to improve as time goes on with how open the devs are to feedback. However, since I really only play breakthrough, I don't see this game getting any more fun unless some major changes are made to the maps for breakthrough.

I'd kept my eye on this game for a while before finally purchasing it on sale at a steep discount. I'd like to start off by saying I don't think this game is worth it at full price. While supporting the devs is important, there are a lot of DLCs you can purchase to further support the devs of the game. There just isn't enough content in the game itself to justify the full price - at least for me. Personally, I think that the Drag Race DLC should have been included in the base game at no additional cost - there just isn't enough to do once you finish the story.

That said, I thoroughly enjoy the game and I think it's very well thought out. While they don't have all the licensing for all the car brands, I think that they did a great job at accurately depicting the different cars that you would come across in real life. I especially like that they didn't just do a ton of supercars or sports cars. It's a lot of fun to fix up daily drivers that you would come across every day. When I bought this game I didn't know you could drive the cars as well, and that's something that really adds to the enjoyment of the game. Being able to race your car before and after you upgrade the components with aftermarket parts is a blast. I really hope to see them make another one of these games and add even more base content/fixable components.

I was super hyped for the release of this game until I heard about the lack of mod support. That killed any hope I had for the game - Colossal Order only makes half the game. The community makes the other half. I tried it on Game Pass right after release, confirming my disappointment.

After a year of waiting I was still hesitant to buy this game due to the still limited mod support and the continuous stream of mixed reviews. However I told myself that if I purchased it, I would be forced to play it. After a slow few hours of learning the different controls from the first game, installing a few quality of life mods, and bankrupting my first city, I had finally started to fall in love with this game. Not only are there so many features included in this game that were missing in the first, but the graphics and performance are vastly improved from the first game. With my hundred plus mods in the first game, I lost significant frames and simulation speed once I surpassed 100k citizens, with the lag slowly building along the way. With this game, I have no issues so far at 40k citizens on high graphics.

With over 700 hours in the first game, I can't say that this one is better yet, but with CO continuing to push through updates, I could absolutely like it better than the first.

Pretty good game. Could use some AI tweaking. Getting shot through walls gets a bit annoying after a while

Not that fun of a game as it stands right now. It has amazing potential and I will definitely be purchasing this game again once a lot more work is done.

I am so glad this game came to PC. I played this game shortly on a friends Playstation right after it came out and thought it was a decent game. Never really gave it a second thought until I saw it on sale recently on Steam. Being in-between games right now, I figured it would give it a try.

This has to be one of my favorite games of all time. Definitely in my top 5 singleplayer games. I grinded this game for 5+ hours a day everyday until I beat it. For as small as the map is, it felt gigantic. The story missions were pretty repetitive, hunt down this person, collect this item, clear this area, but the story was so gripping that I couldn't stop playing.

Never have I felt so connected to a story, it felt like a movie, and played like a movie. I've seen complaints that there are too many cut-scenes, and frankly I do agree. However, for a first play-through I didn't mind it. If felt like I was the one in control of a thrilling movie. The only thing that ruined some of the immersion is how clunky the gameplay felt with it being a port from Playstation, but once I got used to that I didn't even notice unless there was a game-breaking bug.

Being from Oregon myself, and spending quite a bit of time in the Crate Lake/Bend area, it was a blast seeing what it would take to survive were there ever an apocalypse in my lifetime. I now know that Wizard Island is the best place to hole up at the end of the world. I truly can't recommend this game enough; especially if you are from Oregon.

After giving it more of a chance, the game is definitely an improvement over the titles from the last decade or so. It still doesn't live up to the likes of NFS MW, Carbon or the Hot Pursuits from the 2000s, but it definitely gives me that feel.

Once I started unlocking tuning for my cars, I was actually impressed with how much there is. Sure, you can't custom tune each aspect of the car like in Forza, but there is still a lot you can do. It feels like they took the tuning systems from Carbon and MW and completely improved it across the board - I am quite impressed.

Couple more features that I love is the lack of AI catch-up. It seemed like the previous games, no matter how much faster your car was, the AI would always keep up with you. This was especially prevalent in Carbon and MW. But in this game, I've found myself getting miles ahead or lapping opponents when my car is at a higher tune. The other feature that I quite enjoy is the proper Turbo sounds. Forza does almost everything better than this game except for the Turbo sounds. I'm not sure what it is, but in Forza you get great Supercharger sounds, but the Turbo sounds are almost nonexistent. This game has fantastic turbo sounds, and they don't sound nearly as cheesy as you think they would.

I've always welcomed the arcade feel of the game, but I feel like it was so close to an actual serious game that I would love to fall in love with. The story is very interesting, but the arcade feel just ruins any immersion into the actual story for me. They really could have done away with most of the race markers and just used flares as markers instead to make it feel more realistic. And get rid of the long jumps.

TLDR: This game is very impressive compared to other NFS titles over the past decade, but it still falls short of the all-time greats that were released in the early 2000s.
