I remember when this released, back when the story carried the most weight in the games and everything else came after.

This still remains my favorite Assassin’s Creed title. The game takes you through renaissance Italy during a time of local and cultural upheaval, where your father and brother are executed, and you seek revenge on the powerful people responsible for it.

The plot is great and all, but what I really love is how Italy is portrayed and the variety of locations you visit. You can really feel the life of the cities and the deep cultural heritage this country holds, and that’s definitely why this game remains one of the best I’ve ever played.

I highly recommend this game, even if you’re new to Assassins Creed, it still plays well today.
