I owned this game back in 2012. I remember getting it from the official website and my parents bringing back a printed piece of paper and giving it to me. It had a Kerbal Space Program key for the official website. Cost something like £19.99. Anyway, well worth buying again, even after 14 years of the games release.

I have to recommend getting the mod ParralaxContinued if you want your game to look up to date with modern games. Makes it look way nicer. You may be able to mess around in reshade too but I am not going to bother with that.

If the game is on sale, like it is as of writing this (Steam summer sale 2025), BUY THE GAME.

I've only played this full released version for 40 minutes BUT I did play the beta A LOT. I have to say that it is fun and I currently think that the alien and Merc are good to play as and are relatively balanced.

I would recommend waiting for this game to go on for like 20% off for now until there are some hacking issues fixed.

There are many hackers (usually with Asian characters for names). There is also a report button to tell the anti cheat that this persons kill was likely using cheats. This is fine, but also, I don't see any human input in the moderation process.
The worst part about the anti cheat is that they use EasyAntiCheat. I despise EasyAntiCheat. I think its Easy To Cheat because it just doesn't work. Please don't use EasyAntiCheat. You can get a better anti cheat if I just programmed one myself. I am the worst programmer that you would ever see.

Anyway, I have never written a review this long (I don't think). I wont be surprised if you don't read this

TLDR: EasyAntiCheat Sucks, Lots of Cheaters, Aliens & Mercs Relatively Balanced.

At this stage of the game, it feels like you just turned on a texture pack for a later version and now half of the stuff is broken except this is kerbal space program and everything is broken

Its definitely one of the better backrooms games. If you are looking for a game where you get chased and run around then this is it. If you are looking for a game that is going to scare you at all, this is not the game for you. It is not scary at all.

Some Negatives Are: Chromatic Aberration is up way to high
You can only sprint for 5 seconds (unless being chased)
Cant move while leaning
No use for leaning
Graphics don't look amazing
Its very dull and not a lot of details in the game
Feels quite sloppy to play

If these deter you from playing the game then that makes scense. Try not to let this deter you as this is a very new game that just came out yesterday. I'm sure a lot of these will be changed in the future.

Ok so, I decided to give this game another chance. The intro sequence has been updated and looks so much better. Although there are some minor bugs in the animation it doesn't really annoy me. The audio mixing could be improved by like 500% but i assume this is an indie game made by a single developer so i can let it slide. The gameplay could be changed up a little because you always know what your going to get if you want to replay the game. The game does randomise the codes for the elevator and stuff but it's not really that great. despite all of the bugs and annoyances in the game, it has been improved so much and i would recommend getting the game. It does need to be updated a lot and changed but it is playable and gives some entertainment. If you wish the read my review when i played before when the game wasn't updated and was in a terrible condition, read below.

Game is super broken. Should not be sold in this state. The tracking sucks, i spawn outside of the main menu with no way to start the game most times and when i launch the game, i have to watch a long unskippable cutscene. Game is boring, the puzzles aren't even difficult. I think i should be getting paid to play this game. Don't buy this game even for £3.99. Just to add more details, the hands are not properly placed on your controllers and also the models absolutely suck and i'm pretty sure their just free models off of mixamo. Either wait for this game to be fully fixed and polished or just wait for a better game to come out and buy that. I have literally made i think, 3-4 reviews in my time on steam including my old account from 2013 and i just really felt the need to write this so nobody else wastes their money like me.

I mean, you cant describe it, its great. Especially if you play on oculus, the fact that you can play steam vr games on an oculus is great.

Very fun but i'm ass at the game
