Bring back Danger Zone!

Nostalgia aside I installed CSGO just to play Danger Zone with friends, and it reminded me how fun this mode actually is. The fast pace and chaotic teamwork make every match memorable.

Valve really nailed the concept, and it still holds up today. Danger Zone is honestly the best battle royale mode I’ve played in any game. It takes the core gameplay of CS and turns it into something fast, intense, and incredibly fun with friends. Compared to other battle royale games I’ve tried, nothing matches its pacing and the constant tension of every match.

Hopefully they bring Danger Zone back in Counter-Strike 2, because it definitely deserves a return.

A Worthy Successor to Papers, Please

It’s hard to talk about Not Tonight without mentioning Papers, Please, which in my opinion kickstarted this whole “document-checking” genre. Not Tonight definitely feels like its spiritual successor, though it expands on the formula in many meaningful ways. Home management, a wide variety of levels with distinct themes, and increasingly complex document details all add depth to the experience. That’s to be expected, considering it released about five years after Papers, Please.

The game’s vibe is well-executed satire. While I personally preferred the more oppressive Soviet-inspired atmosphere of Papers, Please, the setting here still works very well and fits the themes it’s trying to explore. It feels different rather than worse.

Story-wise, I wasn’t able to fully complete the game on my first run and reach the New Year’s ending because I failed the main Poison objective. I didn’t fully understand what I needed to do until I read about it on the Steam forums - unfortunately, far too late, as I had already passed the point of no return. I wouldn’t blame the game for this, but I was a bit disappointed that there wasn’t a custom save system that would’ve let me roll back and fix that mistake.

The game definitely feels lengthy. That said, it might have benefited from being slightly tighter. Cutting a week from each month could’ve improved the overall pacing and flow.

I also tried the “challenge endless mode,” which was decent. At the time of writing this review, the game supports solo play and a two-player “taking turns” mode. There’s also a “coming soon” two-player versus mode listed, which feels a bit misleading in my opinion. The game hasn’t received updates in over five years, and with Not Tonight 2 having released back in 2022, it seems unlikely that this feature will ever be added.

All in all, Not Tonight is a solid and enjoyable game. If you liked Papers, Please, you’ll most likely enjoy this one as well - definitely worth giving it a try.

A Game That Grows on You - From Frustration to Fun!

Let me start by saying this: during my first hour with Sonic Frontiers, I was fully committed to closing the game, uninstalling it, and writing a negative review.

The opening felt overwhelming. I was bombarded with pop-up messages about skills, upgrades, slot-machine-style loot, constant hints, objective markers everywhere, and clunky, repetitive-looking cutscenes. Nothing about it felt natural or inviting at first. It was messy, noisy, and honestly frustrating.

But I decided to stick with it.

And I’m glad I did!

Once the game opens up and you start understanding its rhythm, Sonic Frontiers slowly reveals what it’s actually trying to do. Every 2.5D section, every enemy encounter, and every environmental obstacle feels like a small puzzle. None of them are particularly complex on their own, but they gradually become more engaging, more satisfying, and more cohesive. At some point, without even realizing it, I was fully pulled into the gameplay loop.

Yes, it’s a casual and arcade-focused experience. And yes, once you learn where to go and how things work, parts of it can feel repetitive. But there’s something oddly relaxing about it. It’s the kind of game you can unwind with, zone out, and just enjoy the movement and flow.

I could easily nitpick every bug, awkward animation, or design decision that rubbed me the wrong way during my playthrough. There were plenty. But instead, I’ll stop here and say this: Sonic Frontiers deserves to be experienced firsthand. It’s far better than it initially appears, and it surprised me in the best way possible.

A Fresh Take on a Classic

Team Fortress 2 Classified feels surprisingly fresh while still capturing that unmistakable TF2 nostalgia that’s hard to put into words. The community is active, the matches are lively, and the new additions fit in really well, spicing up the gameplay without losing the original charm.

There are a few rough edges here and there, but nothing that detracts from the overall experience. In fact, I had a genuinely great time and often found myself wishing some of these ideas made their way into the main game.

My personal favorite addition is Heavy’s new primary weapon, the Anti-Aircraft Cannon. It feels truly unique and is an absolute blast to use. It’s the kind of weapon that stands out, and I’d honestly love to see something like it added to the official game one day.

Overall, this mod is excellent and genuinely feels like it belongs in the main game. At this point it definitely feels like a work in progress, but that’s part of its charm. I really hope the developers continue expanding it by adding more core weapons like the Crusader’s Crossbow, Jarate, and the Demoknight’s kit. The potential here is obvious, and I genuinely hope this project continues to grow and thrive in the future.

Highly recommended for any TF2 fan looking for something both new and familiar.

Tension Without Payoff – Strong Atmosphere, Weak Follow-Through

The idea behind No, I’m Not a Human is really interesting. I first saw it on YouTube when it was still in early access and was excited to try the full version. Sadly, it wasn’t what I hoped for.

That said, the atmosphere is easily the game’s strongest point. The visuals do a great job of setting an uneasy, unsettling mood, and the audio design works really well with it. The background sounds, silence, and overall presentation create tension and make the world feel uncomfortable in a good way. For a while, the atmosphere alone kept me invested.

For a game that’s meant to be replayed, it gets repetitive very fast. Most of the dialogue stays the same every run. The TV, radio, phone calls, and even looking out the windows never really change. After getting one ending, starting a new run mostly meant skipping content I had already seen, unless a new character showed up.

I’ve unlocked a few endings so far, and all of them were pretty disappointing. They don’t explain much or give any real answers about the story. I wanted to care about the plot, but the game gives you very little to work with, so my interest slowly faded.

One thing that really annoyed me is that you can’t really check people at the doorstep. The conversations are always the same, and there’s no way to tell if someone is Human or a Visitor at that point. If you let a Visitor in, they instantly kill someone that night. It doesn’t feel clever or tense, just unfair.

The game isn’t terrible, but it’s not great either. If someone asked me if they should buy it, I’d say it might be fun for one evening. After that, there’s not much reason to keep playing. I’m leaving a negative review because I’m disappointed. I really wanted to like this game, but it feels like wasted potential. Maybe my expectations were too high.

Affordable, Fun and Easy to Jump Into

Deadly Days is a fast and fun roguelite that throws you into constant zombie chaos with plenty of variety between runs. The mix of combat, item synergies, and progression keeps things interesting, while the pixel art and dark humor give the game a lot of charm.

Runs are short and easy to jump into, making it perfect for quick sessions. For such a low price (during a sale), it offers more than enough content to comfortably kill a few hours.

A Decent Start That Goes Nowhere

Warpips is enjoyable for the first few matches. The quick battles and simple mechanics make it easy to jump into, and at the beginning it feels like there’s potential for something more strategic to develop.

Unfortunately, that feeling doesn’t last. After a handful of games, everything starts to blur together. The tactics don’t really evolve, and matches begin to feel repetitive rather than engaging.

I gave the single-player content a fair shot, hoping it would add some depth or variety, but it doesn’t do much to change the experience. Instead of feeling challenged or rewarded, I mostly felt bored, going through the motions rather than making meaningful decisions.

Warpips isn’t a bad game, but it’s one that runs out of ideas far too quickly. Fine for a short burst, but there’s little reason to stick with it once the novelty wears off.

Short, Sweet, and Surprisingly Fun

Western Press is one of those little gems you stumble upon and instantly appreciate. The gameplay is simple and snappy, the retro design is charming, and the sound effects tie everything together into a really pleasant atmosphere. It’s the kind of game that knows exactly what it wants to be and doesn’t pretend otherwise.

Yes, it’s a small game with not a ton of content, but what’s here is finely polished and honestly, that’s perfectly fine. It’s tightly made, focused at its core, and delivers exactly what it promises. I always find it funny when people rate games like this poorly just because they’re short. Not everything needs to be a 100-hour epic packed with features for the sake of it. There are short, barebones games that are great fun, and there are ridiculously long, content-stuffed games that are still a slog.

This one sits firmly in the “short but good” category. If you want a quick, stylish, reaction-based showdown with a great vibe, Western Press is absolutely worth your time.

My only real complaint is the lack of active players and the dead online scene. Maybe if it went free-to-play more people would jump in. Despite that, I truly think it would shine as a couch multiplayer game with friends - preferably with a few drinks for added chaos.

A Unique Take on Cold War Espionage

Sigma Theory is a surprisingly addictive mix of strategy and espionage. It pulls you in fast and keeps you thinking a few steps ahead without ever feeling overwhelming.

The main loop is great: hire agents, send them on missions, deal with rival countries, and race for powerful tech. Missions are easy to understand but still tense, and there’s always that moment where things can go very wrong. When plans fall apart, it actually makes the game more interesting instead of frustrating.

What I liked most is how alive the world feels. Alliances shift, agents get into trouble, and unexpected events force you to adjust your strategy. Runs play out differently each time, which makes it easy to come back for another try.

It’s stylish, unique, and doesn’t drag things out. There are a few rough spots, but nothing major. If you enjoy strategy games with a focus on choices and consequences, Sigma Theory is definitely worth playing.

Chess Movement, Roguelike Heart

Pawnbarian has a simple but clever idea at its core. It blends chess movement with a roguelike structure in a way that feels surprisingly natural. The card-based moves keep every turn interesting, and there’s always that moment where one good decision saves a run that looked doomed.

It’s genuinely tough, and I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to finish everything it throws at me, but the difficulty feels earned rather than frustrating. Even without fully beating it, I can appreciate how tightly designed and surprisingly addictive it is.
